If anyone is interested in adopting any of the animals..remember there are ways to set up a transport to get the animal to you.
Also,they are accepting donations to try and buy the animals a little more time.

PLEASE CROSSPOST WIDELY!!!
Hi everybody. I am sending this to everyone I know or have ever emailed, so some of you may not be near TN at all or even be into rescuing dogs. But forward it to anyone you know who is! This is a very desperate situation!
Due to financial difficulty, Monroe County Volunteer Humane Society is closing its doors and needs to find homes for all 160+ animals in their care ASAP, or they will have to be euthanized.
I helped a friend of mine rescue a puppy from there just a few weeks ago and Laurie, their Director of Operations, was wonderful to work with. They will be greatly missed in the rescue community.
You can see the email below with the details. Scroll further down and I have posted some of the dogs that are on Petfinder.com. There are MANY more, so please call to see if you can adopt/rescue/foster, or even send a tax-deductible donation to buy these babies some more time!!! If you can't mail a donation, but can send one via PayPal, you can send one to my nonprofit organization and I will forward it on to them!

We are going to have to close the doors at the Monroe County Volunteer Humane Society. We simply do not have the financial support to continue to properly care for the animals. In addition we have little to no volunteer help. For those of you that have helped us please accept our appreciation for your efforts. Our focus now is going to be to place the animals we have. There will not be a required adoption fee for the animals but any donation you could provide will help us settle up outstanding bills. Of course the main objective is to find a good home for these babies. We have puppies, kittens, cats and dogs. Please let everyone know that we are looking for good foster or permanent homes. We must get these babies out of the shelter as soon as possible while ensuring that they have a suitable home.

OK everybody, here are just a few of the dogs that have been cared for who will soon be out of time if they are not rescued ASAP! There are a few purebreds and some mixes, including Greyhounds, GSDs, Mountain Curs, Labs, Coonhounds, Cattledogs, ETC! All of these dogs are wonderful and deserving of a future where they know the love of family. If you can take even one, or if you cant, give a donation and crosspost to EVERYONE you know. We can move mountains here if we all work together!!!
