Jake is in Heaven

A few weeks ago, I found my beloved Jake by the side of the road, lifeless. My heart tore to pieces. I've been in a depression ever since. I wonder who could I have failed? My first cat and it didn't even last a year. I thought I was doing so good. I was feeding him and taking good care of him. Thanks everyone for your support. Maybe after a month or more of mourning, I will get another cat. But I don't think I will ever get over losing my Jake. He was my son.

I know how much Jake meant to you...I feel the same about merlin....they are our children....our babies....

How awful to find him like that! But it is maybe better than wondering what ever happened to him...at least you have some closure now...as awful as it would be, I would rather find merlin's body, than always wonder what happened to him!

I'm so sorry to hear about Jake. Nobody will ever take his place but I'm sure that you will find room in your heart when another baby needs you.

Nena; I cried when I read about Jake. It seems that so many of us are loosing our pets this month. I hope this has not been too hard on your children. I shall keep you all in my prayers.

I am so sorry about Jake - since we just went through the same pain I know how sad you are. We try so hard and sometimes loving them isn't enough and they demand to go outside - we all know the dangers that lurk outside, but if we tried to keep them in, they would be so unhappy. Dakota wanted to be free - we didn't love him any less because we let him out and losing him hurt terribly as we wonder what did we do, what did we not do, what could we have done? And the truth of the matter is we could not have done anything different - it is so clear how much you loved Jake - and how sad you are in his passing.

I'm so sorry to hear about Jake. I know how you feel. My Dusty went to the bridge a couple months ago and I still feel sad when I think about him.

Oh my god! Nena, I am so sorry for you... I was hoping you would find Jake. I am crying as I am writing because this brings back memories of my beloved Cleo (gone to the bridge a month ago...). I can feel your pain... We love them so much. When they go away, they take a piece of our hearts with them... It's been a month but I can't get over it, I have the impression of having my heart covered with black clouds.

Nena - all I can say is that I am so very sorry for your loss. Jake will never be replaced in your heart. There is a permanent 'scratch' there from him, but may your pain and anguish turn to fond furry memories soon.

So sorry to hear about poor Jake Nena, I know how you feel love I bought my first cats - two brothers, and after just 5 months one of them was killed in a road accident (he escaped from the house) he was only 6 months old bless him.....Still, I bet my Tetley is at the bridge showing Jake around and introducing him to all the other beloved furbabies....You have my sympathy love and all my thoughts and prayers are with you, I hope you will find as much joy with your new baby..... :angel2:
