Seems like a great place to chat about all things UK. I will ask the mod to move the messages to this thread. Plus, it will stop torturing the weight loss support group since we seem to be making it very difficult!

Good idea Mark! I was kind of drooling while you guys were talking about all those treats!
And now I know what this thread is about, so I can avoid it if I'm feeling weak!

Mark bear with me on your goodie box. I was informed by the post office that because it was food i was sending there are new laws out in the states saying i need a registration number to go onto the shipping documents.
I had to get in touch with the American Embassy in London so as to get it.
They have e-mailed me back to say it had been passed onto another department to deal with in the states and also gave me their e-mail address.
First thing this morning i e-mailed them, and hopefully should get a reply while i'm at work so i can get them sent. I should have put that the contents were cotton wool because the box is light!. But rules are rules!!.

They will be worth it though!

Did you used to watch 'Coronation Street'?

Oh and my bangers and mash were fab!

Whoa Rosie! My sister sends me food all the time, including some alcoholic biscuits and never had to register it - all she says on the customs package is 'sealed food' and sends it off as a gift.

Ahhhh Coronation Street - its been ages since I saw it - I liked Les Battersby.

Hey, is Casualty ever going to come out on dvd? That is my all time favourite show and I have missed so many episodes since being in the states, I am way behind
I miss Charlie!

Seems like a lot of you guys have spent time over here for some reason or another!

I hope its not just the choc bars and crisps you remember as well as the bl***dy awful tv - all decorating, murder or gardens on the lead up to the 'new' summer schedule.
cant you tell Ive not got sky
