we have had Bellah for about 2 .5 weeks , she blended right in and even was ok with our Patches , if you have read my other posts she was ill with a URI that caused sores in her mouth , shes healing nicely now , starting to get more energy etc .

She is starting to charge at Patches when we are getting ready to feed them She is also doing this if I pat Patches , from what little I know of her background , she came from a home with 20 other animals , into foster for 6 weeks where she was ill and then to us.

Any ideas? I feel like shes doing it because she had to fight for food and attention in her other home

Thanks

She just sounds like the alpha kitty to me. Try feeding her first in a totally different area, then the other cat. Just a few minutes before you set down the other bowl. Also pet her first before you pet Patches, and do some one-on-one playtime with her in another room and with an interactive toy.

I don't think that it has something to do with how many cats she used to be togehter .Unless , they did not give enough food to their cats ( maybe ? ). I have a couple of cats they do the same thing and I always have food out . It may just be her personality (sp) .

we had to teach her to use her bowls , but she goes right after our plates when we are eating , she insists on sleeping on me (all 11 lbs of her ) lol and she wakes me up at all hours of the night , cleaning me and rubbing her head on my face.

I havent slept through the night in over 2 weeks , I feel like I have a new born lol

okies I will try your ideas

Thanks
