I have three cats that all live indoors. They are 4 (Skitzy) and 3 years old (Boogie), also a 9 month old (Buffy). When I first brough Buffy home she was only a month old and needed a lot of attention. I did not introduce her to my other two cats until she was three months old. I did everything you were supposed to start the process off slowly so the cats don't feel threatened. Well when Buffy was around 6 months old, Boogie started to hiss and make a lot of vocal noise around her, but it is mostly when I am around both cats at the same time. (He is very attached to me and I think he is jellous when I show Buffy attention) Now he has started to hit Buffy, and also Skitzy. Buffy will fight him back, but Skitzy will just run away and hid so he picks on Skitzy more because she will not fight back. I do not know what to do, and need help.

Are all the cats fixed? Is Boogie medically fine?

If "yes", there are some great suggestions in the posts at the top of the message board, among the points are getting the cats to have the same scent by putting some vanilla extract on their chin, between shoulder blades and end of tail (at butt). You might want to try to get Boogie to associate good things with the new addition, like feeding them together or giving them treats together. Limit the time that the kitten spends with Boogie and make a huge fuss over him (I had a similar problem and this seems to have helped). Also the Feliway diffuser can help calm stressed cats, as well as the natural remedies like Rescue Remedy.

All of my cats are fixed, and Boogie is healthy as can be. I will have to go get some of the vanilla extract and try it. With the showing Boogie a lot of attention I have tried that but if he is in one of his bad moods he will hit me and hiss at me to, like it is my fault that Buffy is in the house. Hopefully the vanilla and the Feliway will work. How many times a week do I have to put the vanilla extract on the cats? Thank you for your post

I would try it 2-3x a day, just a drop or two. This worked for me when I introduced the new addition. (Credit to Hissy for the original suggestion
). You may want to try increasing the territory in the house, it sounds like Boogie may feel threatened by the others encroaching on his space. I have a floor-to-ceiling scratching post which the kitten loves, she sits on the very top which keeps her out of the way of the other cats' territories. They are available at Walmart for $30.

Yes I have a floor to ceiling scraching post but mine cost $200. Anyway Buffy loves to sit up top of it and stay away from Boogie. The only problem is that he sometimes wants to sit up top were she is and he flips out. Sometime he is a dram queen and other times he really gets upset and tries to hurt her. Hopefully that stuff will work thank you
