I was saddened to hear this morning of the death of the reporter and journalist Alistair Cooke at the age of 95! I have for over 20 years listened to his 'Letter From America' and have learnt of the similarities and differences between the US and the UK through this great story teller. He was present at the very beginning of the UN and when Bobby Kennedy was shot.
He will be sadly missed on this side of the pond.

I remember him from Masterpiece Theatre. He was a true legend.

ENGLAND... LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY!
I have to be ashamed to say i never really listened to him
. I always used to get told i should watch the news more than i did!.

When it was on the news yesterday, they said that he was the one who brought the americans and the brits together?!.
