one day when we left for church, we saw a stray cat meowing at our window, and then when we got back, it was still there. we fed it, took it in and it had three litters. did we do the right thing to take that cat into our home??

Catman,

Did the cat have three kittens (babies) or three litters of kittens? Either way, I strongly suggest that you have her spayed right away.

I can't imagine why it would be bad to bring the cat inside!
The more strays and ferals that are adopted, the better!

why shouldn't you have taken it in ???? However it isn't the cats "fault" that it continues to have kittens, please get the cat spayed asap. There are enough unwanted animals out there at this time.

Get thee to the kitty doctor and have the factory installed equipment removed forthwith! While taking the wonder kitty in and providing a good home, you are contributing to the pet overpopulation problem by not practicing proper kitty BC. Fix her!
