Jan Berry, of "Jan and Dean" has died. As a dedicated oldies fan, I hate to see any of my old favorites go: the Wilson brothers (Beach Boys), Bobby Hatfield (Righteous Brothers) and now Jan Berry.

He's probably racing through Deadman's Curve with the Little Old Lady From Pasadena.

Somebody's going to have to write another verse, to the Righteous Brothers' "Rock 'n Roll Heaven".

I switch my car radio between a country station and an oldies one. It seems as though a large number of songs on the oldies station are by artists who are no longer with us: Elvis, Roy Orbison, Janis Joplin, Marvin Gaye, John Lennon, George Harrison, Bobby Darin, Bill Hailey, Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper. These are all favorites of mine.

How true.

Not to mention Maurise Gibb of the Bee Gees fame an their younger brother Andy Gibb, Waylon Jennings, and Johnny Cash and his wife.
