I'm really really hyper right now because I never thought I'd be able to do something like this!I'm not sure if I had mentioned it in this forum before, but I had the recent pleasure of designing the artwork for the cover of a CD for a band from Arkansas called Klokwork that I'm friends with. We met when the played in KY once. I'm so sooooooo happy right now because my free(since I did the artwork for free) CD is finally here and it looks much better than I thought! Now that my artwork is copyrighted I'm going to post some pics of the CD insert, cover, the origional images and stuff. The pics arent too great because they were taken with my webcam. This week I'll scan the cd insert so you can see it clearer. Let me what you think. I still cant believe I did this. I dont even have photoshop! All I used was microsoft picture it 2000 that came with my computer! Doing custom avatars/sigs for people is one thing, but a CD cover! *sigh* I'm going to faint. Lol. Anyway, here's the pics. Dont worry I wont let this whole CD thing go to my head...well just for today *grin*

I am putting the pics in a seperate page so they can load faster without having to wait for the text and all to load at once.

There are 7 images below so it may take a few to load. If you get the stupid 'x' or if they dont load completely then just refresh or right click show image.

Here's the origional of the image for the cover:

Here's the cover(it should look more blue tinted than white):

Here's the origional image for the lyrics:

Here's the image in the lyrics:

Here's the credits full size:

Here's 2 pics where my name is and both are underlined in red so you can find my name easier:
"Artwork by Amber R. ([email protected])"

"Amber for the incredible artwork"

Nice artwork Amber!
Also, your fiance has a goatee exactly like the one my boyfriend was just forced to cut off by his employer.

Thanks!

lol...you know what's odd? He's not allowed to have his hair any longer than it is in that pic, but the gotee can be that long. Myself I prefer long hair and short gotee, but he likes it so aslong as he's following the rules at work I dont really mind it. I just think it's odd that they allow it but not his hair! *shrugs*

Congratulations, Amber! That's impressive artwork, and certainly eyecatching. If the CD doesn't attract attention it won't be your fault.

Just one question - since this could result in exposure for you as well as the band, why didn't you take credit with your last name included on the cover?

Lol my aunt asked me the same thing today. Honestly it's all because I'm paranoid. I was afraid that someone could find me and I have had some guys harrass me before. I figured it was safer that way...really I couldnt decide for sure and I almost posted a poll in here, but I decided if anyone wanted to contact me for artwork or anything they could thru my email.

Well, for the future, if this is something you are interested in pursuing professionally, I think you should consider building a name for yourself, and not just an initial.
