Yesterday, I had two cavities filled. By 7:00 p.pm, the fillings had come out. This was before I brushed my teeth.

This morning, I called the dentist and, since she isn't in on Fridays, told the receptionist what had happened. She called me back, a few minutes later and said that the dentist said that I should be OK, over the weekend and they could get me in, on Monday.

Fortunately, these are very small, shallow cavities but, I AM uncomfortable, cannot chew on the left side and must be careful with hot or cold liquids. Needless to say, I am going to spend part of my weekend, on the insurance company's website, shopping for a new dentist. This not only costs me my co-pay but, the time lost from work, to have this work re-done. I am NOT paying for the fix!

I have one other filling, that has been in place for over 20 years. Is it too much to ask that one's fillings outlast the anesthesia?

Cindy is NOT a happy camper!

Cindy I used 1-800-Dentist- I highly recommend it. They ask you a ton of questions and only get a dentist that is suited to your needs.

Sounds like your dentist must be cutting corners in cost and using inferior material?

I used a similar service and found a fantastic dentist that I've been with for the last 11 years. Good luck! Sorry you are feeling cruddy!!

I have to use a dentist who is in my dental plan. Otherwise, I have to pay a much higher co-pay. I AM going to give MetLife some feedback, though.

MetLife's website has a long list of dentists and I'm sure that I can find somebody, suited to a wuss like me.

It only took about 15 minutes, to drill and fill two teeth. I thought that was awfully quick but, I figured that things had changed a lot, since my last dental experience (I put it off WAY too long). Maybe, she IS cutting corners.
