Question about Diego

I took Diego and got him nutered on tuesday. We have to watch the inceision and make sure it is doing fine. Which it is. I have to put newspaper in the litter box and he will pee in it but he wont poop in it. He goes to it and meows and i will call him to me and he just looks at me like where is my kitty litter. Is that normal?

Cats can be very particular about any changes. Just like some cats will completely avoid the litterbox if you change litters or use one they don't approve of, maybe Deigo just doesn't care for the newspaper. I would probably notify your vet if he hasn't pooped ANYWHERE by tomorrow just to be sure this isn't a symptom of a medical problem!

I have never heard of putting nbewspaper in the litter box after neutering. I would go back to the litter you have always used to ensure that your boy doesn't start using the floor instead.

Just keep an eye on his bum to be on the safe side, but I can't imagine using regular litter would be a problem.

Well he pooped in the bathtub last night so i picked it up with the scoop and put it in his litter box and then showed it to him and told him just 3 more days and you will have you litter back.

By the way, did his poop look normal for him? Sometimes they will go in some obvious place to be sure that you see it. Or, he may just want to be sure that you know he doesn't like that newspaper!

Oh it was normal. He was just showing me that he wanted the kitty litter back in his box.
