Looking for opinions on the best/safest cat harness to get for Midna. She's obsessed with the outdoors. She'll sit at our sliding glass patio door for hours pawing at the glass and "chattering" at the grass moving in the wind. Any time I leave the house, she's crowding around the door investigating the smells and sights. I have a small enclosed back yard so I'm hoping some time outside in a harness will help take the edge off her intense need to be outdoors all the time. The only problem is she's an escape artist. When she was spayed, I had to watch her because I could not for the life of me keep a cone on her. I tried 2 different kinds and she pulled both off. They were as tight as could possibly be, she just pulled and pulled all night until they finally popped off. She even slipped out of a thundershirt that I put on her to test the sizing. I'll definitely be training her to wear the harness indoors before I ever take her outside in it, I just need some recommendations for harnesses that are hard to slip out of.

figure 8  harnesses only made the cats roll around on the ground, frustrated. So I went with H style harness from Pugs2Persians on etsy.
Tommy has been wearing his from 20 lbs all the way down to 13 and we just keep adjusting it. He went to the vet last week with it

If your cat is a master at escaping things, don't get the figure 8 style harness! It's uncomfortable for the cat and it's easy to find a way out of. One of my previous older cats managed to wiggle her way out of a figure 8 harness and ran away (luckily, she came back a week later!) but I wouldn't take the risk, especially if your cat loves the outdoors. I have friends who have used the harness jacket on their cats and as long as it fits properly, they are comfortable and most likely will not escape since it's so 'bulky'. I know once my kitten recovers from her spay, I'll be getting her a harness jacket! If you're looking for something a bit cheaper and lighter for your cat, I'd also suggest the H-style harness. Good luck!
