Do cats of the same colour get along better?

I'm a new owner of two kittens.

I get them about one-two months apart. They are both of a tuxedo pattern. Before that I had bought home kittens. The first was a white one and my first kitten hated him. Would howl, hiss, and swipe the white kitten. So we returned him. After that we got an older kitten ginger cat. My kitten hates him even more but would still cautiously play with him, but only on his term (kitten would approach the ginger kitten but would freak out if the ginger kitten approached him). So we returned him. After that we had another tuxedo kitten. After just 5 hisses they immediately started playing with each other. They are playing rough which I think is normal and my older kitten can tolerate being jumped on by this new tuxedo kitten.
I don't think kittens are very self aware of their own patterns obviously but do you think there are other influences in the colour pattern that foster friendship in cats or kittens?

I think it is just personality, energy levels and some level humams don't know. I have three cats in my home. The two boys tolerated each other and played occassionally. It wasn't until we got the third, a little girl, that the boys really melded into a cohesive group. Even now the two boys just occassionally play together but they both care for the girl. Rocket is a spoiled little one with her brothers bringing her things and protecting her. The boys are a solid black and pointed. The girl is a pointed as we'll .

In your case it sounds more like a high energy dominate personality was preexisting. The incoming kittens might have been too mellow or submissive or dominate so they just clashed.

I know I have heard some traits are more common in some coat colors. It is true the pointed closer to Siamese are more inquisitive and energetic. So maybe that could be something but that is a pretty big stretcj in my opinion.
