I've been feeding three feral cats for a few years. Just buried one of them recently because of being hit with a car. So now I have two. It wasn't to long after I buried  that one, that another cat showed up. Its been around for I would say over a month. Now within the last two weeks, I would say since March 12th 2017 my two that I was feeding for years went missing. What could of happened? Did this new cat run them off. I would really think since they have been coming for years they would at least try to come and eat. I am really hurt about this. Not sure what to think. I could use any advice. Thanks

First off, are they spayed/neutered?  What about the new cat?  If it's a male and he is not neutered he could very well have chased them off.  Another thought is that your two followed this cat somewhere and they are now getting food elsewhere.

Have you thought of using a trail camera to watch for them when you are not home or at night?

I am sorry that they are missing.  It is so hard when you have no control over these sweet ones.

The dynamic may have changed in the neighborhood. I buried a burly Tom cat who got run over and 3 more popped up. I think the Tom was keeping them away. The opposite may be happening with you. Are you sure they are gone or are they showing up maybe at night now?

I have trail camera's set up so I kind of know when they are coming and going. Even if the camera isn't working I would catch it the next day. I just can't get over that they would both leave. There were a few times they were missing for a day or two but I think coyotes were in the area, so they stay hidden.  I did see a few foxes around also. I'm still so sad they are gone. I will keep watching to see if they come back. The other new cat is coming every day still.  They never were gone more then a day. There are many shelters I have built to stay in and I did check them to see if maybe one of them were hurt. But nothing.

The one is spayed because I did it. The other one looks like it has a tipped ear but I didn't trap it. The new cat I'm not sure what it is. Even when they had some troubles among themselves, they still came back. I will hope for the best.
