Title says it all! I was given a free sample of this from my Vet. Is it good? Does it work well? is there side effects? is there better quality to cost products on the market?

Whats your opinion? I want to know.

Love Revolution. It gets rid of ear mites & fleas & is easily applied between a cat's shoulder blades. We buy it online at canadavet.com because Canada does not require a script. Expensive, but totally worth it.

Absolutely, and I've never had a cat who reacted badly to it (or to Advantage or Advantage II for that matter).

It depends on where you live. Personally I would recommend using it at least during the warmer months as there is no safe treatment for cats who contract heartworm. The VCA hospital veterinarian gives us their own version I'm not sure if it costs less.

One of my cats is allergic to Revolution (minor reaction, just got bald spots) so he's on a different product bow. My other cat uses Revlution and it seems to work just fine.

Revolution is my favorite topical flea medication because it also treats mites and protects against heartworms.  I also have one kitty that reacts negatively to Revolution (she gets feline hyperesthesia symptoms, darts around, has huge pupils, and is basically high), so she gets a different treatment.  My other 3 cats have no issues with it at all.

Revolution is said to be effective. My product says that 90% of cats respond well to it. That leaves the unlucky 10%. Also healthy kittens can take four times the amount of dosage on "revolution pink for puppies and kittens". I've applied two doses when my first kitten was bought home and he is still very rambunctious as ever. Though I guess maybe I was lucky...

i live on tx gulf coast & fleas are a devouring plague in warm weather! i hsve used revolution for yrs now since frontline became a joke.

i have had 0 problems and decent resultes... especislly with 1 cat who is so allerghic to flea bites she will scratch scabs in her hide!

Revolution has stopped all those problems... the other stuff is just pathetic

My vet gave me a free sample and it seemed to work for ear mites for about 3 weeks and that was it. For several days it affected her nervous system, hwr pupils were large, she was tired, then she got somewhat hyper. Interestingly I was affected to just by the fumes on her!(I didn't even touch it, my vet gave it too her and I was careful not too touch that area where it was applied). My nervous system felt weird is the best way I can remember. I decided to try Advantage 2 for my next dose, but I decided against using any of these poisons. Here's why: After I researched deeper online I started reading alot of tremendously sad stories about people losing both cats and dogs or their pets getting very sick from these products. Although many of these people had good results with few side effects for the first few times, many of them said that after 2 or more applications that their pet got sick or perished. Some people had been giving it for a year and then suddenly their pet had a reaction and died. Of course these people were devastated and it was heartbreaking to read these stories. Basically they felt that the body might be able to tolerate the initial doses, but maybe the poison built up in their system, or caused an allergic reaction because of repeated doses. Many of these people said they were very careful and gave the correct dose too. I can't judge people who choose to use it, especially those in humid areas where fleas are rampant, but Ive decided I won't take the chance. Remember that poison is literally being absorbed into the animal's bloodstream and that is how it is killing the fleas etc. I wish I could remember where I read this. I'll try and find it later if I have time.

Since my cats are indoor only, we don't have dogs that go in and out, and because we don't take in strays or fosters, I only treat my kitties every 3-4 months.

They gave it to me for Amalie for her coughing. We treated it as asthma *steroids*, but also did a heartworm test and they gave me Revolution in case the test was wrong *she said it's only 75% accurate* and I gave it to her for 2 months. Then boyfriend says while he was on the airline home he felt like he was being eaten alive and later I found a flea in my house. 3 other doses were given to my other cats and 2 doses divided up between 5 guinea pigs.

i live on the tx gulf coast and the fleas here are fierce & omnipresent.  (all bugs for that matter)  I use revolution topical for the cats and bravecto for the dog... these 2 products are the only ones I have currently had good results with.  How long either product lasts kind of depends on where we are in the local flea cycle, during the winter I can go for at least 8 weeks between doses of the Revolution, but during the hight of the summer its more like 3 weeks.

(I used to use Frontline Plus, but their formula changed and it no longer was worth the $.)

I order mine online from an overseas source and pay less than it is available for in the US
