Mister Cheddarwurst is a big orange tabby. For the past two days in the morning before I feed him he's been throwing up white foamy stuff. This morning after he threw up he ate both canned and dry food. He is using the litter box normally but his little nose is bright pink. I found what looked like a turd upon further inspection it looked like a hairball. I don't know if this is serious enough for a vet visit! Any ideas? Thanks! =)

Anything other than a hairball being thrown up isn't good.  I would suggest strongly you take him to the vets.

When was the last time Mister Cheddarwurst had a visit, if recent, can you at least call the vet and see what they suggest?

May I ask how old is your boy?  Have you changed his food?

Please keep us updated.

He doesn't go to the vet very often. He's always been an indoor cat and I've never seen him have a hairball. He's not lethargic and he's eating and drinking but I had a lily of peace in the house and I caught him eating a leaf. I did so much research and I found out that plant is an irritant to cats but since it's not a real lily it is not going to cause trouble with his kidneys or anything but would irritate his stomach. He's only vomiting the white foamy stuff when his stomach is empty (in the morning when I first wake up). I am going to put butter on his paws tonight in case it's a hairball thing because that seems like a natural remedy to move hairballs along. If he continues to throw up its the vet for him tomorrow morning!

Just got home from work, stomach was in knots all day being worried about the kitty. He's pooped and peed and eaten and now he's sitting in the window enjoying some fresh air. He seems okay but hopefully no more puking!!

Keep a close eye on him.  Does he go to the vet annually for his exams?  I would still call the vet and inquire as to what the issue may be.  If it was from nibbling on the plant that could be toxic and dangerous. Cats are very good at hiding an illness, don't be fooled.  I was and it didn't turn out good in the end.

Please keep us posted.  Good luck with your sweet boy.

If it were me I wouldn't take any chances regardless and would remove the plant from the house for peace of mind.  Personally I don't think it's worth the agony if it is an irritant to cats.  I hope he is feeling better and continues to thrive.  Best of luck, please keep us updated on his condition.
