Hi I have a cat that is highly allergic to poultry. My cats eat dry food and get wet food once a day. I have yet to find a beef canned food that does not contain chicken. So I was was thinking about making my own small batch of beef wet food to see if they like it/supplement their diet. I'm not against them eating raw food .... I'm just not sure if they would eat it. They barely eat their wet food. Is there an easy recipe I can try? I know they liked their liver wet food (that had chicken) I was thinking about maybe trying beef liver? What else besides meat needs to be in their wet food?

There's a list of raw recipies here: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/264154/raw-feeding-resources

Home cooked is also an option. Some cats who refuse raw will eat cooked. There are recipes here: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/264153/home-cooked-cat-food-resources

Vitamin and mineral supplementation is a must with raw and home cooked diets. You can add in individual supplements or use a product made specifically for raw and home cooked diets such as EZComplete.

There are beef canned foods that do not contain any chicken:

I emailed Chewy a question via email about their rabbit food (was the liver in their ingredients chicken or bunny?) and asked them if they had chicken free canned beef wet food. They directed me to Nature's Variety Instinct. Which I am going to try. I still might try my hand at making them small home cooked or even raw food just for the variety. However I would rather feed them beef or venison over bunny.

Thank you so much,

KJ
