Hullo there, everyone!

I have a curious thought, and this is just one for the future that I'm curious about. Currently I'm still living with my parents since I'm attending college, but I do plan to have my own place sometime after. But a thought hit me, I'm taking my little baby girl Espa with me, but what if I were to introduce someone else to the household with their own little baby?

I've seen scenerios via that famous cat from hell tv show, that having two grown cats put together is always a bad thing. But I also think that tv shows can be dramaticized cause if it werent, itd be boring. So I need some opinions!

Espa is currently 11 months, going to be a year on April 3rd. She has her hyper moments, and her really super affectionate moments where she will sleep on me or deliver multiple headbutts to the face. Shes well socialized with those she feels accept her, and ignore those who arent as fond of her. With kids (experimented with a very watchful eye), she will sit and stare in amazement at the tiny humans but nothing more than that. Very neutral to it all. And she will allow people to carry her with very little fight. So, shes overall a very healthy, sociable, affectionate kitty. (Proud mama here).

But what if I were to have someone live with me and they have their own kitty? Would her attitude change? Would there be fights? I understand a really badly trained or kitty with behavioral issues would of course have some issues in the household in general. But say its a kitty just as sociable, or just lazy, or also a female? How could that play out?

Just being a curious person here since then I'll be able to determine whether or not to keep Espa as the sole queen of the castle, or if itd be a good idea to have a second queen (or king) to the kingdom! (As long as theyre neutered, since Espa is).

Hi,

Espa is ADORABLE!!!

The key really is to introduce them properly. When done correctly it works most of the time. Introductions can take a month to a year. But it takes time and effort. And it depends on if both cats are moving into new territory for both of them or one cat is moving into another cat's territory.

A confident cat is more likely to accept another cat so keep working on your cat's confidence. A lot of play, feeding after play, getting your cat up on trees, a lot of safe warm comfy beds and scratching posts, and finally a lot of love and the humans being calm and confident around the cat.

So when you come to that point please feel free to post on here and we can help you.

Feel free to ask anything anytime, we are happy to help. Study hard!!

I see! Thank you so much! I'll be sure to keep those tips to mind and post if I have any issues in the future. So far, Espa seems sociable enough that she may be able to tolerate another kitty. The question is, what will the other kitty be like? But I wont worry too much about that now, still working on spoiling my only kitty.

You are very welcome.

The keys are really the process and the confidence of the cats in my opinion. The vast vast majority of the cats (whether feral or not) are able to be integrated in my opinion with the proper process and building their confidence. So please continue to build Espa's confidence and things will be fine.

So don't worry and we will be here for you if or when you decide to add another bundle of joy.

Thank you so much for loving Espa, she is SO ADORABLE!!
