Hello!

Yesterday I noticed a spot on my kitty, Jesse's, nose. I'm looking back at photos from the past month, and it seems to have been gradually progressing though I didn't really notice it until this past weekend. It doesn't seem to be bothering him. I've been doing some research and I know cats can develop spots like this when they get older? He just turned 5 and is indoor only. Currently active as usual and eating like a horse haha.

Here are some pictures with dates for reference...

Sept 22 2016 (no spot):

Dec 22 (tiny discoloration starting?):

March 8:

March 13:

March 25/26 (this weekend):

I know the suggestion is to take him to the vet. I just took him at the end of February for his shots and have to take him in again in June for a dental. He absolutely hates the vet and it causes him immense stress, so I'd rather avoid if possible. Any ideas for my little spotted-nose man? Should I even be worried? =/

Is it a raised bump, or a different texture? Or is it just discoloration?

Thanks for the response! I would say its very slightly raised...kind of looks like a little square mole or scab or something.

Hmm. First thought would be lentigo simplex, but that is suppose to be only on orange tabbys, calicos, and tortis. (Actually, my orange cat just started getting freckles on his gums and nose the past few months.)

But honestly, if it's raised, I don't think that would be it. Does he have any other spots in his mouth/gums?

I wish I could answer that but he won't let me open his mouth! haha. I wonder if it could be some kind of allergy or allergic reaction. Hmm. I'm definitely going to keep a close eye on throughout the week to look for any improvements or worsening.

Where do you think?
You mean the black spot on his nose leather?

I'd definitely get that checked out there's a chance it could be a type of skin cancer. If this is the case it's better to treat it before it spreads.
