My Siamese Princess Abigail does this weird thing where she acts like a completely different animal when she's at my dad's place visiting for a week or two than when she's at her forever home. When she's visiting my Dad and the four other cats, she isn't very affectionate and spends most of her day playing with her friends and climbing all the cat trees in the house. The only time she will show affection is when she's tuckered out sleeping on the top level on the cat tree. Then she starts purring and giving you kisses.

When she's at the apartment she's all over me and my girlfriend 24/7. She's always talking to us and always wants to be petted / played with. Why does she change like this when we move places?

Any cat owner with two or more cats will tell you that when you own one cat it's orientated toward you, when it lives with another cat it behaves more like a cat.  It's great that she can enjoy both experiences.
