Disgusted with my city!

I am literally disgusted with the city I live in!!!! I just found out on the news that our local animal shelters are selling animals for testing!!! I can't believe no one has done anything about it before?!?!? There are 3 animal rights groups going after this...but want to know what really makes me mad? This story recieved about 3.5 seconds on the news. I can't find any links or stories online, checked all my local news stations websites that I can find, ZIP, NADDA, NOTHING! I have tried doing searches, I don't even know which groups are doing something about it. This shows how important animals really are in this city!

I will keep on looking for SOMETHING, but I don't know if I will find anything.

(I didn't know where to post it, so if there is a better place for this, go for it!)

EDIT: Now there is something even worse! When searching for an article (still none) I found out there have been at least three other articles from last year, all different months. Also in 2001..WHEN will this ever stop? What can I do if I can't find anything about it????

Thats shocking!!!. How can they call themselves animal shelters if their doing that?!.

Not that I support it or anything but.......think of all the shelters that put animals down. They are doing the same thing, but no one seems to care to much about it just like here in Denver the most popular shelter is the Denver Dumb Friends league and they kill any and all kittens under the age of 6 months and if a mom cat comes in with kitties they take then and put them down. and then spay the mom and put her up for adoption, If someone adopts an animal from them and they get it back no matter what the reason they are put down. I feel that situations like that are just as upsetting but no one seems to complain about that. I sure wish I knew what could be done to stop both of the issues but the only thing that can really be done is the protests. You might beable to write a letter to the shelters But other then that I am out of options.

chixyb, you might try calling your local animal shelters and letting them know you're really concerned about animals being sold for testing. Also ask these shelters for the names of the animal right groups. Good luck!

I understand how difficult it is for the shelters to place older animals in good homes, but it makes me mad to think about all those poor little kittens whose lives are being cut so short!!!
