Okay so I've noticed every time I go into a store like Ross or something and kind of store that sells everything they HARDLY have any cat things!!!! They always mostly only have dog supplies. Dog treats, beds, toys, puppy pads, dog tooth paste dog shampoo and what do they have for cats? A POOPER SCOOPER AND CAT LITTER MAT!!!! Cats aren't animals who are lazy and poop and pee all day! Cats like to play to cats like spending quality time with their owners just as much as dogs do! Cats like toys, and cats hygiene is also important! Cats run around like lunatics in the middle of the night! I think these stores need to do some research and get more cat supplies as they are just as important as dogs. :(

Stores offering only limited cat supplies are missing out on a huge market and have only themselves to blame for lost sales.  According to the Insurance Information Institute, in 2016 there were 85.8 million pet cats in the U.S. belonging to 42.9 million households.    The average annual expenditure per cat for supplies was:

toys - $28

grooming aids - $43

vitamins - $33

treats - $51

food - $246

While it's true that expenditures per dog are almost twice as much in some cases, that difference becomes less meaningful when you consider that there are only 77.8 million pet dogs in the U.S. compared to 85.8 million pet cats.  http://www.iii.org/fact-statistic/pet-statistics

You're absolutely right.  These retailers do need to do some research.  It will take them about 5 minutes which is how long it took me to find the above statistics.

I couldn't agree more.
