Hello Neff, welcome to TCS :wavey:

Your kitten is new to the place. Just give her a little more time to explore. Get some toys or a cat wand to get her out from hiding and play with her.

Just remember to keep all dangerous items away and make sure there's no toxic plant, medications and certain human food that she can reach.

You've come to the right place where you can find many good articles and forum threads to read. Feel free to ask questions.

Your kitty is beautiful. What's her name? Do post more of her photo ;)

Thank you, I guess I should be more patient. Her name is hope.. Her perivious foster mom told me to give her a room and close the door.. She started eating and let me pet her& she started play with me.. She wanted me to open the door, and I did! But she hid under the sofe in living room.. That's why I thought I should have listened to her foster mom, so I got her back to her room.. but at night she cracked the corner of the glass of window (our windows are really old).. So, I let her go and hide under the sofa again because I really worried about her because she can harm herself.. I really don't know what to do.. she is not coming and playinv with me if she is not locked her room which I don't want this happening again.. :-( I am sentimemtal,I am crying amd I feel she is not happy here [emoji]128577[/emoji] I don't want to give her back, too.. I am miserable now!

It's only 5 days since the kitty came. It takes some time for her to get use to the place since she came from another house. Don't drag her out from her hiding and don't chase her.

Keep noise and movements down. Try to make yourself small and be on the same level as her. You know, if we stand up and talk to her, we look like giants to her and that will make her more weary.

Don't worry, just cover up as much hiding place so she can't hide but just leave one or two places for her to hide temporarily. Keep talking to her in a gentle voice or sit where she is and read a book. Get some toys and lure her out and give her food from your hand so that she'll get use to you and associate you with food.

Is she eating well and using the litter box normally?

Just shower her with your love and ask your husband to do exactly what you are doing so that she can get use to both of you. It'll take a while for her to get use to the new surroundings. It is not that she is not happy, it's a new place and new faces. She'll get use to that.

So you don't worry and just enjoy her and take lots of photos of her and show them to us.
