Good morning!
 And Happy Friday!

Rick and I were packing our lunches this morning and today we were making sandwiches; we don't often have sandwiches for lunch, but we were both hungry for them. He is a mayonnaise fan. I prefer mustard, any kind of mustard.

What's your favorite condiment for sandwiches or potato or pasta salad? Mustard, mayo, light mayo? How about Miracle Whip; does anybody use that? Horseradish? What's on your sandwich?

I must say that I do like Miracle Whip and, when I'm making potato salad or pasta salad, I will use part light MW and part light mayo in my base for my dressing. And it's always Kraft mayo, although I have been known to buy Hellmann's (Best Foods west of the Rockies). Duke's mayo isn't bad; we tried it one time when it was on sale and I had a coupon.

We have seven different mustards in the fridge....I do like mustard.

(Rick also said to me that most wives make lunches for their husbands. Evidently, he was talking to some guys at work and they got to talking about packed lunches. I know my sister would always make my BIL's lunch before he retired. I don't make Rick's lunch; at that hour, it's all I can do to make my own! But I guess that's another thread.

Miracle Whip too for potato and macaroni salad, and on turkey or BLT (my favorite with garden tomatoes!) sandwiches. On ham sandwiches I like spicy or horseradish mustard, on Subway type that we make at home I like vinegar and oil, so I guess I like everything!

I use Duke's Mayo. It's not possible to get it in the northeast, it's strictly a Southern brand but, I order it directly from the manufacturer. I used to use Hellman's but once I found Duke's that was that.

I absolutely hate Miracle Whip.  It's not mayo - it's something else.  Growing up one of my friend's mom used it for tuna sandwiches. I always feared eating at her house for lunch because of it lol.  Blech. I am with @Kat0121  on this!

I like a bit of Dijon mustard mixed in sometimes, for potato salads mostly. For a ham sandwich only mustard will do.  I use Maille, but if I can't find it Grey Poupon is fine also.

I think they refer to Miracle Whip as salad dressing.
It's too sweet for my taste

Duke's is good too. Publix carries it here in Florida. I will get it if it's BOGO.

Cains Mayonnaise.  Only Cains will do.  As it is a New England company, many may not be familiar with it.

When I was in school in Wash. D.C., I met a fellow New Englander; she and I are good friends still.  Anyway, we would fly back and forth for breaks and holidays, together.  We got to talking one time and discovered we BOTH brought back a case of Cains Mayo with us!  On EVERY trip back to school!  LOL

For some like a ham sandwich, I will put mustard on one side, mayo on the other.  But ALWAYS, Cains Mayo.

I grew up with Cains Mayo!! another New Englander!!  I am now using Hellmans light because Cains does not come in a light version or in a smaller container...Also grew up with Cains hot dog Relish!!

When I have a sandwich I use lots of mayo!! I have even used mayo on one side of the bread and mustard on the other slice of bread.. delish!

Need tons of mayo in tuna fish salad...and chicken salad, and potato salad, and..........the list is endless!

Ha ha haaa, Hi there!

Cains does make a light but only in a 30 ounce size.  Or you can get small 8 ounce regular.  You deserve Cain's!!  I prefer their Tartar sauce over other brands, as well.

I like Miracle Whip on ham sandwiches. The sweet tangy flavor goes well with ham. I don't like it for stuff like tuna/egg/potato salad, that's mayo all the way. I buy Hellmann's mayo, but I'll buy whatever mustard is cheap. It's hard to ruin mustard :D. I get both yellow and brown mustard, they're used for different things---yellow is for hamburgers and hot dogs and breaded chicken sandwiches, brown mustard is for deli meat sandwiches.

I'll also make my own mayo. It's easy and so good! But it doesn't last long and I have to wash the food processor afterward, so unless I'm using a lot it's not worth the fuss.

I like horseradish but don't have any on hand right now. Hot sauce goes on everything. If you have the right hot sauce anyway---Tabasco is too vinegar-y for some things. I do like ketchup for burgers, fries, hot dogs. I buy Heinz with no HFCS. Heinz Natural? I forget what it's called. (ETA: Simply Heinz)

Is lemon juice a condiment? I put lemon juice in/on everything too. I buy the frozen Minute Maid kind because all the shelf-stable brands taste weird.

Miracle Whip. not my favorite. It would taste better as a pasta salad base but not on a sandwich although I have had it with bologna.

Mayo almost ALL the time WITH mustard. I like BOTH.

My bread MUST be toasted. I detest soggy bread. Yuck.

I can go with plain bread IF there are lots of veggies and meat but generally I prefer LOTS of mayo

Jon only eats tuna salad if I put 2 big spoonfuls of mayo for each sandwich. Yuck. too much for me.

Horseradish I have only used for a dip for onion rings-Burger king has this sauce for rings that are really good. I bet it would taste YUMMY on a pastrami sandwich with sauerkraut.

I like just about anything as long as bread isn't soggy. I don't premake sandwiches. I bring bread separate and toast it here then put the rest of it together. Which reminds me I have ham I need to use up here at work.

For the longest time Miracle Whip was the only thng Mom used. She kept insisting that it was mayo even though the label says dressing
Her lack of understanding English was probably one reason why. So I grew up eating boring potato salads made with Miracle Whip and it just wasn't any good
Eventually Mom tried mayo from a jar and decided that it was a lot better than Miracle Whip

I actually don't care for sandwhiches. It's just something I never grew up eating. When I do have a sandwhich, such as a catered lunch at work or I go out to a cafe or something, I just have mayo on the sandwhich. I'm not a fan of mustard or any other condiment typically put on sandwhiches.

i'm not a fan of miracle whip either. although, i will buy Aldi's Burmans brand (rarely) and that tastes okay.

i prefer mustard to mayonnaise. i like pretty much all kinds of mustard -- yellow, spicy brown, grey poupon, honey, etc. however, i'll use Aldi's Burmans brand mayonnaise for potato and macaroni salads, and in tuna and egg salads -- all of which must have sweet pickle relish in them.  i'll add chopped hard boiled eggs to my potato and macaroni salads too, and a little yellow mustard mixed into my potato salad -- it gives the salad a little pep! i also use mayo when making ranch dressing from a homemade ranch dressing mix.

for sandwiches, it's mostly mustard (with ham) and margarine (with chicken or turkey, and meatloaf). it's only blt's that i'll use mayo with.

i really like horseradish, but don't use it. not sure what i'd like it on or with.

ketchup is for fries or sometimes on a burger, in my little slice of the world. well, i also use it when making french dressing.

I haven't had any type of mayo for a long time.  I do like sandwiches and actually use spinach hummus as an alternate spread.

I've never tasted Miracle Whip. I'm kind of curious about it now.

Has anyone tried Kewpie mayonnaise with wasabi? It's not bad in sandwiches, but it's much better as a dip for vegetables or chips.

I prefer Hellman's for sandwiches.  I have been trying for quite some time to switch completely to mustard, I still use Hellman's sometimes.  I can only use a spicy brown mustard, I don't care for the yellow stuff.

I'm not a fan of any type of mayo at all and rarely use it. I also rarely make sandwiches at home but have used hummus, pesto, Italian dressing, etc in sandwiches before.
