I posted in another thread about some cats I would be petsitting for a couple months, probably more. Anyway, tomorrow will be a week since they've been here. I was alarmed from the moment they came into my home. They are huge! I mean, probably almost 15lb. They get nothing but dry food (Whiskas brand with high protein). I offered them some wet food, they just sniffed it and walked away like they've never been offered any in their entire life. I'm very concerned even though they are not my cats but I am caring for them for the time being. I've also noticed that they both have trouble breathing and get extremely exhausted when going up only a few steps. Am I obligated to express my concerns with the owner? He's a very kind person and he'll be stopping by next week to visit. I was wondering if we should talk about it then. I can tell that he really cares for his cats and loves them but I couldn't allow them to stay this size if they were mine. Am I over reacting? Felix and Smokey are at a healthy weight according to my veterinarian and easy to lift. I hurt myself trying to lift these cats. It's hard to get them around when they are so heavy.
