I have a kitten that I got from some guy off Craigslist when she was about 8-9 weeks old and that was around Halloween making her about 7-8 months old I believe. Indica (my kitty) isn't the most cuddly kitten but she has her sweet moments. For the past few months (I'm not exactly sure how long it's been going on) Indica has darted into my room I share with my boyfriend and pees on his clothes. It's not always in the same exact spot though because she peed under the bed on some of his clothes the other day. I cleaned the whole area where she has peed (from what I know) and have started the process of soaking and washing all of this clothes and will try to keep them put away so she doesn't have access to them. I was wondering if there's another step I should take? I heard that she may be jeleous of him because I spend so much of my time with him (like he's taking me away from her, they don't have that strong of a bond because he hasn't spent as much time with her as I have) and that's her way of getting back at him. I have no idea why she's doing it though because the only other incident she's had that I've noticed is she would sometimes pee on our blankets we leave in the living room (but I haven't seen her do that in a couple of months). Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Since you know what the problem is, peeing on cloth items on the floor, the best option to stop the behavior is to not leave cloth items on the floor. Clothing, blankets, towels, they all should be put away properly. Most likely something in her first 8 weeks told her that cloth was a good spot to go potty which isn't uncommon in kittens kept in less than sanitary conditions. The other idea would be that she doesn't like the feel of her litter so you could try changing to a different texture. Between changing the texture of the litter and keeping a tidy floor you should stop having the problem.

There is a chance it is an emotional reaction to your boyfriend. Usually peeing on things for that kind of reason is marking territory. If you have room for a cat tree that may help give her an anchor for her scents and stability in the room without feeling the need to scent mark him specifically.

Is she spayed? Have you taken her to a vet to rule out a urinary issue?

Have you had the cat longer than the boyfriend, or the boyfriend longer than the cat?

Many, many moons ago, I had a boyfriend who was moving from our city to another city and he asked if he could stay with me for the in-between two weeks.  I had a healthly, completely litter box trained kitten at the time.  The first or second night my boyfriend was at my house the kitten peed directly on his feet while he was sleeping.  Definitely jealousy!

Pick up the clothes and tell your boyfriend he's lucky that it's just his clothes.

If she's not spayed I think she's trying to steal your boyfriend ;). At that age she's trying to find a mate and leaving urine around for other cats to smell is how cats do that. If she is spayed, I'd have her urine tested to see if she has cystitis or an infection.
