Our 1 cat (we have 6 cats, all indoor) has been sneezing for about 3 days. She's 2 years old. She's eating, taking her treats and drinking. She plays a little but not like she always does.

I called the vet. They said as long as she's eating and no eye or nose discharge, then just keep an eye on her.

She usually comes to me when I call her....Now she doesn't.  If I grab for the laser, she would always jump to get it before I even turn it on. Now all she does is get on the floor and look at it.

She is still interested in things but not as much as before she started sneezing.

If she has a cold, how long will the sneezing last (today she didn't sneeze as much as the 1st 2 days)?

If it's a cold, how long does a cold last in cats? When should she start acting like herself again?

How long should I wait to take her to the vet if she's still sneezing and acting this way?

Can it be something else more serious?

I'm stressing out because I'm worried about her. So far my other cats aren't sneezing.

Thank You,

Bernice

Both times my girl Chestnut started sneezing, she ended up with Crystals.  Everything else was normal, eating, pooping and even urinating until she got blocked.

I would take her to the vets as soon as you can.  If you're not comfortable with this vet or if you feel they are not taking your concerns seriously, please take her to another.

My friend was told she was dramatic over her sweet dog, who had been shaking his bottom lip and lost interest in treats and grooming.  She thought it might be a seizure the vet told her he was just shivering from the cold.

I told her nonsense, he's been doing this since the summer.  I started researching other vets in her area as we were on the phone, told her to pick one she felt comfortable with, she went to another one she had been to before.  Turned out all of his bottom teeth were infected, they've since removed his bottom teeth, gave him Clindamycin for the infection, and he's eating, playing, grooming, lets her touch his mouth and is just loving life.

Sorry for the rant.  Bottom Line - Bring your sweet girl to the vets. Sneezing could be a number of things, it's important to diagnosis soon so she won't suffer or feel uncomfortable anymore.

I'm sure it's nothing to be alarmed about, but it is important to get her checked out.

I know others will chime in with great info for you.

Please keep us posted.

Be well, Warm regards, Hope

Thank you for your reply.

I am taking her in the morning. I'm dropping her off to get checked.

2 of our cats had crystals so I know all about that. LOL

I'm hoping she only has a slight cold and it has to run it's course but I want her checked to be on the safe side.

Thank you,

Bernice
