so i have a grandmother whom i live with and take care of, shes 76 and is disabled from having polio when she was a child..she had an MRI done and the doc called and made an immediate appt (friday the 24) because it showed an infection possibly in her spine..shes on oxygen and is starting to show signs that my grandpa did before he died...now my cat is 1.5 years old and is a tortoise shell calico and tabby mix (i believe thats correct) anyway, she has been acting very strangely these past 3 days..she will just meow and meow these strange meows..she follows me around just meowing, I always love on her and make sure her food and water is always fresh and full....but im afraid she may be sensing my grandmother possibly passing away soon...from the looks of it, it doesnt seem she is going to pass away, but that possibility is always there, especially with her health right now....

does anyone have any experience with cats sensing death? im really worried about my cat and my grandma!

thank you for any feedback

Im pretty sure cats can't sense death, however they can sense stress. If you are worrying about your grandmother a lot your cat will know.
Otherwise, if that doesn't seem to be the case then id be keeping a close eye on your cat . Make sure there is no medical issues behind her strange meowing and abnormal behavior.

I hope your grandmother gets better soon. Sending good vibes her way

There have been many documented cases of cats in nursing homes sensing a death and staying with the person, trying to comfort them, google it and see what comes up.Dogs are used to sense upcoming seizures and diabetic episodes, so why not? I'm sure they can sense a difference in the slowing down of body functions. Cats may be able to diagnose something wrong in the body,  from smell, like what may be wrong with your grandma, so it may not be death but a problem. She may be smelling it on you. God bless, I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers!
