hello I got my male cat Bear vaccinated earlier this morning. He seems a bit off know a few hours later, he has eaten his dinner no problem but very quiet and not much interest in things going on around him and rather sleepy.he is alert though just seems he looks rather kind sad. poor baby i would feel yuck too after  a vet sticks a thermoter up your butt and poking and prodding you and them getting a yukky jab as well.   Just really quiet and out of character for him but i know its quiet normal for them to feel off. we  got him last year and this is the second time with us he has been vaccinated, first time was a few days after we brought him home but was ok. he is 3 years old and desexed.

what has your cats reactions been ? how long did the symptoms take and go back to there normal self?  is there a time period that they should start to pick  up again? is there anything i should be looking out for that warrants another trip to the vet?

what can I do to help him besides giving him lots of rest?

would love to hear some tips and hints.

Not to be pessimistic, but if you read my post about it, my cat symptoms lasted 12 days.On the other hand, my other cats lasted between1 and 3 days which is the norm I guess, but could be longer also. I panicked as I never  had symptoms last that long, but now I know it is possible.

When I've gotten my kitties vaccinated, they would be draggy for about a day.  If he's not bounced back after 24-36 hours, then call the vet.  Most kitties tolerate vaccines well, but some don't.
