I saw the catinfo web. According to her, avoid fish stuff. However, my budget is pretty tight:(. I decided to feed friskies pate to my cats.

Is it horrible to my cats? Only the friskies mixed grill doesn't have fish, but I bought a big box of the collection which calls friskies pate poultry variety.

I am new to here and this is my forst time having cats.

Do I need to mix old food with new food before switching to other flavors?

Thank you.

You only need to add the new food gradually to the old food if they are suffering stomach upsets (diarrhea etc). In my experience, ff one variety of a brand is ok for your cats then changing them over to another variety shouldn't bother them.

My cats love the Friskies pate poultry varieties. They like the turkey & giblets best.  The pates from Friskies are fine. If this is what they will eat and you can afford it, it's the right food.

I think any food you can get your cat to eat is a good food. Friskies has been around for a long time, I feed both pate and shredded to my cats along with dry food left out and have had no problems at all. I have one cat that prefers pate, one shredded, and one that only accepts the 'pouches' (16 years old) and licks up the gravy. For a special treat they all absolutely love Whiskas Purrfectly Chicken which looks and smells good enough for me to eat! Then I have an elderly starving stray that showed up that absolutely loves the cheap 9 lives, the stinkier the better. So as long as everyone looks good, and feels good I feed them what they want.  PS make sure you shop around, Walmart sells Friskies for 48 cents a can, it's 69 cents a can at the local Supermarts, quite a difference!

Ounce for ounce,FF is actually on the expensive side unless you can find it on sale. If they can't have it, stick to the Friskies especially if they like it. Mine used to adore the FF turkey kitten food so I'd keep a few on hand for when they are being particularly fussy. They recently decided that they no longer want it.

Mine don't like the FF as much as they like the Friskies though. Mine are VERY picky eaters.

Do your cats like Sheba pates? Amazon has good prices on Sheba using the subscribe and save service. It comes with free shipping- Prime or not.

I have tried sheba once like 5 cans, but they had diarrhea. I don't know what is the problem.
I used to feed them the Friskies meaty chicken in gravy. I decided to change their diet to wet food only. And then, I went Fanncy feast classic. It caused terrible diarrhea! I guess I didn't transit their food gradually. They had have diarrhea for 2 weeks, so I am back to Friskies. I guess FF and sheba are good food. My cats are not picky eaters. They love kibble and canned food.
