I know this really doesn't have anything to do with a lot of these posts -and I'm glad there are ppl out there willing to help fereal cats but I don't think cats are made to b outside to roam around. I have 2 cats and I love them to death and there are 3 feral cats in my neighborhood tht wonder around everyday whether is cold or hot. I've tried to give them food or treats but they just meow and keep walking. I just don't think tht cats need to b outside. I don't think it's safe as far as cars and other animals. Idk how ppl can just leave there kids ourside it makes me feel so bad for the cats. I volunteer at my local shelter so I see a lot of animals come n go and ones tht r sick and or hurt. It breaks my heart. For wut it's worth I just think cats need to b kept inside - if for sum reason someone does decide to let there cat out at least have them spay or neutered.

It IS best for cats to be kept inside. Free roaming cats can be hit by cars or wind up on fights with other cats, or dogs, wolves, coyotes, etc., and be exposed to a plethora of illnesses. However, feral cats have been outdoors for their whole lives. They have not been socialized and therefore will often not be a nice pet, which is why they will not want to interact with you when you see them. That's where TNR groups come in. They use a live trap to capture the cat, which is then neutered or spayed, and then returned to where it was found. This works to decrease feral cat populations while at the same time being the least stressful for the cat. Kittens of feral cats can be socialized and become beloved pets. If you want to help out feral cats in your area, volunteering with your local TNR group is the way to go!

Yea my 1 st kitten I got is a feral cat. She was born outside the mother abandoned her and 2 other kittens and she is very very loving. I agree tht feral kittens can b raised in a home like any other cat. I just love her to pieces.
