So long story short:
We have a new cat that we adopted a couple of weeks ago. He fit right in immediately; they're all buds, and it's been fantastic! (He looks like he has some Somali in him, in my opinion!

He looks like a dangerous subversive!

Actually, with the exception of shorter hair on my gal, he looks just like her.

You might try experimenting with some chunky wet foods.  Nutro Max makes chunky grain-free recipes.  Also, Natural Value is one of our favorite brands and my gal devours the Chicken recipe and the Sardine recipe, which is in the form of chunks.  You can see small whole shrimp in the Sardine and Shrimp flavor.  The chunk varieties may remind your boy of people food.

Have you tried any cat food types in the form of shredded white meat? It looks just like human food pretty much, except either in a clear gravy or broth (the brands Soulistic Good Karma, Weruva Paw Lickin Chicken and Tiki Cat in particular that I know of)

Here's a photo album of what food looks like inside the can: https://www.flickr.com/photos/ninga/sets/72157630596066364 You can use it to find a textured food your cat might like. Weruva, Soulistic, Tiki Cat, Pride by Instinct, and others may appeal to your cat.

A home cooked diet may also appeal to your cat. The easiest way to do this is to use a pre-mix such as EZComplete and plain cooked meat of your choice. Mix together with a little water and serve or freeze into portion sizes for later use.

You can try a sprinkle of FortiFlora on top of any food. FortiFlora is irrestible to cats, even sick inappetent ones. You can buy FortiFlora online. The full product name is Purina FortiFlora Feline Probiotic Supplement. There's a $5 rebate here.

have you tried warming the cat food? Cats are often more interested in warm food, it releases the aroma and makes it more appetizing.

Also, are you trying only chunks or will he eat pate? I can't give my cat any chunky food, she eats Weruva but they don't make a pate so I have to put it in the blender. If I give her regular food, she just licks the gravy and leaves the meat behind.

I have the same problem with my Siamese cat Oliver. I have tried every canned food in the market. That means canned food from the States, England, France and Italy. He does not like cooked meats either.

I  give him pieces of fresh, uncooked meat(goat or sheep) and fresh, uncooked, chopped meat.

He loves every kind of dry food. I always have a dish of dried food availabe for him. He has to eat.

I am trying for 7 years to get him to like and eat canned food. The only food that he loves is called Delectables(origin Thailand) and that is no longer available in the market and the amount was only as a treat.

With his picky diet he is a very healthy boy, good weight and no health problems.

I hope you find a solution for your kitty. Best wishes.
