Hi, my cat belle had her kittens 6 weeks ago and they are very active and want to escape from any cage/pen I put them in. My house has a few young children in so we are not able to let them roam about as they are tiny.
My question is does anyone have any advise on where or what I can keep my kittens in? (We have no spare rooms to give them )
A few other things as well
-they are not using a litter box yet and just eat the litter( we have non clumbing kitten litter)
-2 kittens don't seem to try eat wet food or drink kitten milk
Any advice would be great
Thanks

Can you keep them in your own bedroom and keep your young children out?

You'll need to begin putting the kittens in a kitten-sized litter box several times a day, especially before and after meals.

You'll also want to provide dry kitten chow moistened with kitten formula to soften it, along with pate-style wet food made mushy with kitten formula. You can also give them turkey or chicken Gerber baby food. Kittens usually love it.

You can smear some food on their gums to get them to taste it.

Yes, young kittens are a handful and you are wise to want to keep their delicate, little bodies contained in a safe place. A deep box, such as a refrigerator or dryer box is a good option; otherwise, a playpen works great - the key is to keep the top covered securely (I use an old sheet and cheap picnic-tablecloth clamps from the 99c store). The kittens will protest but like puppies getting crate-trained, they will adjust.

Even if they don't like kitten milk, they might enjoy kitten glop made with canned goat milk or, better yet, fresh whole goat's milk. Goat milk doesn't have all the lactose of cow's milk and even the mama kitty can benefit from drinking it.

And welcome to TCS! Don't forget - we love pictures here
