I rescued My little Mini from my mom's neighbor's farm two years ago. She was a runt and was constantly being beat up by the other barn cats. The farmers wife said that they were going to "put her out of her misery" I volunteered to take her. I nursed her back to health and she has been my joy ever since. When I knew she was going to live I took her in and had her spayed and a wellness check was done. It was then that I found out she has Feline Leukemia. She is so far doing well, but yesterday when I took her to the vet we discovered she has several broken teeth. The vet wants to remove them, and do a cleaning. I am wondering if this is the best approach for my little girl. I am worried about her not waking up. I am worried about her immune system not being able to heal from the surgery. I want what's best for her, I just don't know what's best. It feels like because of th FeLV that everything I do for her is a double edged sword. Also her gum look great, she just has some missing teeth... the vet even said she doesn't appear to have an infection. She eats great and is a healthy weight for her size. So my question is what should I do?

I personally  would leave it alone, I imagine broken teeth are going to be just fine, like humans, unless there comes an infection.  Research it, I would, ask around.   There is something I use to help keep gums and teeth healthy.  For the most part, I believe it is natural.   When I buy the big bottle I skip adding the vitamin C to it because I have been told several times it makes the gel bitter tasting, and that could lead to administration difficulties and trust issues with your fur baby.  I have had excellent results with it.  In order to use a smaller amount for my fur baby I have kept and cleaned out eye drop bottles and refilled them with it to keep from using too much of the gel during application.  The stuff I have been using is Oral Cleansing Gel by Maxi/Guard, there may be others out there, I have yet to do more research on it, however, I have read several reviews and majority have been positive.  Use as directed for the most part and I have seen excellent results.  I have tasted the stuff myself and it has basically no taste or aftertaste either.  I have bought the mint flavor before and well that went over like a lead balloon-lol-just fyi.  Perhaps you could research having the teeth capped in essence too.  Research it I say.  Good luck and loves to you and your fur family

Oh by the way I have been using Moringa, Reishi Mushroom and added a Garlic gel capsule together in a #0 gelatin capsule to give to my fur baby for extremely low white blood cell count due to Feline Leukemia, even though she tests negative for it.  It seems to be helping, however I am only on week 3.   I did research that and have read some really INCREDIBLE RESULTS, MIRACULOUS EVEN, utilizing any one or combination of these regarding cancer and or many horrific and debilitating diseases.

Garlic is toxic to cats! Please stop giving her garlic.

Cats have a different metabolism from humans and dogs. Some things we can eat or dogs can eat will kill cats.

High quality grain free food and probiotics, would be good, and remember to ask vet or research before giving anything to cats. Essential oils, and many things fine for human or dogs are dangerous to cats

I talked with the vet again today. She is concerned it could be feline tooth resorbtion, since she is showing no other symptoms. she also said we could hold off for a couple of months since everything is healthy. Mini is a resilient little thing, and honestly has exceeded everyone's expectations. The vet said that she may even be one of those cats that has feline leukemia and lives a long good life. I hope so, but my main goal with her is that however long she lives her life is good. She has helped me in so many ways in her short life. She helped me get through my father's passing, she has helped my anxiety and depression. She has helped me get over a closed head injury that put me out of work for four months. She has been a great companion. I don't know what I would do without her. So I just want what's best for her she has been so good to me. So anyway I am going to pick up extra shifts at work and we will get this dental work done.
