I have an issue on my hands. My little girl is heavily pregnant and I need to prepare a few places for her to try out (and hopefully choose one to have her babies in), but I'm a little clueless.
I have three very large, high-energy dogs and one elderly black lab, so I don't want her to have them in the open, like I think she will. I also have nine other kitties, most of which she's extremely bonded to (her sister and her two brothers, her adoptive mother), so I don't want to keep them apart for too long.
Initially, I thought about setting her up in a medium-sized bathroom that I can control, letting cats go in and out as they please, but not letting the dogs in. My S/O is worried that putting in her in a closed space like that would make her nervous, though, no matter how clean or nice. I also thought about blocking off the spare room they like so well and keeping her in there, but I'm just not sure and can't think of much else.
Any suggestions. guys?
* She's a first time mom, and this will be our only litter. She's being spayed when the kittens are around 8wks old. And I should note that I have to be able to keep her special needs brother away from her (that's how we got into this mess- he can't be neutered safely because of a brain condition and I missed her spay appt.) until she's spayed.
