Picture of the Month contest: Let's get moving! March 2017

Thread Starter

Time for our monthly photo contest! :woohoo:

The theme this month is "Active Cats". We're looking for great photos of your cat/s being active! Jumping, walking, running, playing, climbing... anything active so no pictures of Kitty sleeping or loafing around (the feline version of being a couch potato :D). If you have a good action shot, captured in mid-air, now's the time to submit it! And if you need inspiration for photos or for getting your cat to move around, we have a new article on this very topic -  7 Proven Ways to Get Your Cat to Be More Active

The sponsor for this contest is -

Bravo

The winner will be getting two cans of Bravo’s new Feline Cafe meals. Each recipe is grain and gluten free. These complete and balanced, natural dinners feature delicious cuts of meat or poultry as the first ingredient!

Prizes can be shipped within the US only but please don't let that stop you from joining in the fun! If you win, I'm sure we can think of a US-based shelter you can donate the prize to (or even to another TCS member!).

Submissions will be accepted through Sunday, March 19th.

The Rules:

  1. Choose the best picture you have for our monthly theme and post it to this thread. Please mention the cat's name!

  2. Image needs to be clear and not too small. 480 pixels high by 640 pixels wide minimum. Larger is better.

  3. One submission per member please smile.gif

  4. No special effects, borders, graphics or text on the pictures.

Photos will not necessarily be monitored during the contest. If your photo fails to comply with the above rules we may have to exclude it from the voting stage.

Our cats are ALL amazingly beautiful! This friendly photo contest is about the way in which the cat is captured in the picture. We're not looking for professional photography, but do try to keep things like image quality, lighting and composition in mind.

Good luck everyone!

Most of my photos of Chula playing consist of a blur or a vanishing tail.  Hre's one where you can tell she's a cat.

Such a difficult decision, as I have oodles of pix of my cats playing!  Since Elvis hasn't gotten a lot of face time up until now due to technical issues, here he is doing "Stuff On My Cat" with his froggie.:blobmir:

Baby Link playing with his Squirrel.

Then, like now, he was constant motion followed by passed out kitten. I have mostly videos of play and photos of sleep, lol. I still have the squirrel in his toy box but it is more a chase and bat toy than wrestle toy. I think it shrunk. :lol3:

Moo Shu Snowshoe, the day she came into the house after being unceremoniously tossed out of a car by neighbours who'd just bought her and then had decided to divorce (I often muse that perhaps she was the cause of their parting).

It seems like only yesterday she was a sweet, energetic little ball of fluff.  Last week, my Veterinarian dropped in with his ex-SPCA rescue English Mastiff, Midge (short for, "Midget" - he's male, and only a little smaller than a late 1940s vintage Packard)  to split a pizza.  Midge, who's exceeding well-behaved, usually gets a rug in one corner of the kitchen, well away from the cats, and not realising that the **** Snowshoe was hiding somewhere, we plopped Midge's food into a bowl, and took the pizza and libations into the dining room, closing the door as usual.  Perhaps thirty seconds later, there was a high-pitched yowl from the kitchen, followed by a series of whimpers.  When we opened the door, the **** Snowshoe had the poor dog cornered, and was eyeing the food bowl.  Of course, when she saw us, she bolted through the door and was gone into the main house.  After a close nose inspection, it was clear that the dog was frightened but unharmed, and we made our way back to the dining room, to find the **** Snowshoe in the pizza box, calmly picking off pieces of sausage and wolfing them down.   **** Snowshoe.
