So, how did you sleep, Dear?

That's kinda-sorta the actual question.

How do  you sleep?  Are you a neat, tidy sleep?  Wallow all over the bed, kicking a flailing?  Insomniac?  Think you're dying if you don't get your full 12 hours?  Do you like to go to bed early or are you a real night owl?

How do you sleep, Dear?

I'm a night owl.  It's quarter of five in the morning, and here I am.  This is about normal for me.  I go to bed late, and get up around 11 or noon.  AND most nights, I'm a very deep and tidy sleeper.  Making up my bed in the morning is mostly just turning the edge of the covers back up where I pulled them back getting out of the bed.  Even when I roll over, I don't really roll, I kinda flip in place.  Although I am usually a very deep sleeper, and fall asleep fairly easily, occasionally I go through stretches of a few days when I only sleep in short bursts, and not for more than a total of 4 hours a  night.  Then I'll sleep 12 hours, and get back to normal.  Dunno why.

I'm a night owl. Mornings are up there with snow on the list of things I despise most.

I have a king sized bed with 7 pillows so if I roll around there's always a pillow there- unless there is a cat using it already.

I don't move around too much. I don't get much sleep during the week. I have to be up by 5. I make up for it on the weekends.

I used to be a night owl. Years of having cats that start screaming for breakfast at 3:30 in the morning have changed that. And we're up now at 4:45 anyway to start our morning and to get ready for work. That means that I'll go to bed, some nights as early as 7:00, supposedly to watch tv. I'm often asleep within minutes. Then I awaken again around 10 and have trouble falling back asleep.  Even when we go on vacation now, I still awaken very early in the morning as it's become a habit.

For the most part I don't really move around that often. But some nights are very restless for me.

From my nursing days and early shifts, I learned to get up very early and it stuck. Needless to say I am a morning person, definitely. I go to bed and don't wake up until about an hour before I get up. (with a cat's help of course!)Up at 4AM but in bed by 8 or 9. It works out well, though, I have the most energy in the mornings and with my extensive gardens I can be outside and to work by 6AM in the summer when it is cool and really quite beautiful. We record any shows we want, and that's great, no commercials! I love watching the sun come up, it gives me a feeling of awe and an appreciation of the beautiful artwork of nature/ I think I must have some Egyptian blood or some sun worshiper in my blood somewhere!

In the summer I sleep just fine. I usually finish work around 11 or 12 at night, take a long hot shower and then drift off to sleep.

At this time of year as soon as the heat switches itself off at around 2 am hordes of heat seeking felines invade the bed. This wouldn't be so bad if there weren't so many of them. They hog the blankets and lie on top of me and gradually push me further and further towards the edge of the bed. I usually wake up really stiff from being used as a mattress by them.

I'm up to two hours of yoga some days and I'm still suffering from stiff shoulders and lower back pain.

I'll be glad when the warmer weather starts and they spend their evenings outside, pulling the wings of moths or whatever it is they get up to.

I have a king sized bed for the cats and me. When they decide they have found their spot, I have to maneuver around them. I have slept across the top of the bed where the pillows are supposed to go many a night because their majesties were too comfy to move.

I'd imagine that being a mattress for 22 cats is bad for the back.

I am not a morning person; anyone who knows me learns this rather quickly!

I sleep on my stomach, and do not move around much.  Of course, I am in a full sized bed, with 5 bichons, 2 cats, plus other kitties who come and go during the night.  I am allowed an 8 inch strip on the edge of the bed; so I dare not move!  LOL

I'm not a morning person or a night owl, I like to think of myself as an afternoon or brunch person.
As long as it is light out it's easier for me to wake up than when it's dark.  But I definitely can't sleep when it's hot out, even in the winter months I turn the thermostat down to 60.  So I guess that makes me a mid-day, cold weather sleeper.  Of course when I have to go into work I walk in with a giant cup of coffee.

I was a morning person for years, the Army made me into one and it stuck.  When I started working from home I changed over time to a middle of the road person.  I am fully awake by 8 or 9 and ready to go sleep around midnight.  If I don't go to bed when I am sleepy I will wake back up and I will be 'off' for a while.  It's like I have to go to the point of exhaustion before I will finally sleep beyond short naps.

I am a morning person. I naturally wake up early cats or no cats involved.  Because of that I tend to go to bed on the early side.  I'm honestly exhausted by 9-10 pm.

I'm a side sleeper. and usually don't move around too much. We have a Queen bed for 2 humans and 2 cats. Wish it was a King but that won't fit into our room without us tripping over furniture.

I'm a morning person, too. Leroy insists on waking me up. Usually one of the mice is awake at the same time too and rattling away on the wheel. Both cats sleep on the bed with me most of the time. Leroy occasionally decides to sleep on a floor cushion for some reason. When they are on the bed, Emma usually stays right in the middle of the bed near my knees while Leroy makes himself comfy wherever he decides to, currently next to my pillow.

My natural inclination is to be a night owl, but my job forces me to live otherwise 5/7ths of most weeks.

I get up around 7:30 with an alarm. At least half the time I get a kitty wake up walk across my pillow between 7-7:15. On weekends if that happens, I don't even remember it whenever I get up unless he's really bratty and takes multiple passes.

Due to the storm, my boyfriend stayed over last night, which is unusual for a work day. He gets up much earlier than I do, around 6:00, and he beat Luciano to be first awake in the apartment. I'm hoping with time Luciano will sleep in later as well. As I learned yesterday during our snow day, he sleeps for a lot of the day anyway.

I'm a night owl right now, going to bed around midnight and get up between 8 and 9. I try to push the bed time back to 11 or so because I feel better and get more work done in the mornings, but it's tough changing the internal clock. Yesterday, I shut the cats out of my bedroom and slept until 11. This messed me and the cats up all day. Mingo gobbled his breakfast he was so hungry, threw it up, and proceeded to throw up everything he ate all day. I felt so sorry (and guilty) for him, and to make it worse, it was excruciating to get down on the floor and back up to clean up the vomit. (I'm scheduled for back surgery on Monday.)

I toss and turn all night. I prefer to sleep on my side, but sleeping on my back helps the pain. I almost have to strip the bed to make it up every day.

Definitely a morning person. Love the mornings. Have to wear foam ear plugs to sleep as I am a sensitive sleeper. Even husband's breathing can keep me awake. I like to sleep on my back, but to avoid being disturbed by his Nibs I have to sleep on my side. Cannot sleep with any heat on in the bedroom & there must be an open window. Cats do not sleep with us.

@Norachan   LOL...I only have Hekitty, but I totally understand. It only takes one cat at my house!   For 8 years, I slept on a 20 inch strip in the dead center of my king-sized bed.  BOTH sides belonged to Hek, and should I venture into her territory, I was pushed, prodded, harried and clawed back to my space.  Now, she's changed her mind, and I get the 20 inches at the far left-hand side of the bed.  Good thing I do roll over by flipping in place!

I've considered leaving the bed to her and buying a camp cot.  I'd have as much room!

I am a night person! It's the only quiet time I get to myself!  But years ago when i was laid off from a job it took literally 2 days and I was back on a "to bed at 2, up at 10/11" schedule.  Normally I fall asleep on the couch with the girls and then stumble to bed a little while later.

I move around in my sleep but it's just DH and I in a king size bed.  He goes to bed earlier than I do so we each get the whole bed to ourselves for several hours.  Since DH is allergic the girls don't get to sleep with us.  But shhh don't tell him Mooch kept jumping up there with me in January when I was sick.  I tried to keep her on the edge of my side.  He didn't seem to notice or have any reaction that I noticed.  I wouldn't ever consider letting her on or near his pillow though.  She only got to do that because I was stuck in bed.

In the morning we semi-neatly put the covers in order.  It's not perfect but it's not a mess.  No one sees my bedroom anyway.

...with the cats...
i'm usually a side sleeper, but many times i'll sleep on my back these days.
i just go with what works each day, as to when i go to bed and when i wake up. most nights i'm out like a light very shortly after i get into bed -- i usually wear myself out. i'm usually go to bed between 11:30pm and 1am, and wake up between 8:30am and 10 am. i'm also up every night for about an hour, in the middle of the night, to give my cats a snack. it's usually just flip the blankets/comforter up, and i call the bed made.

It's amazing how much space such a small animal needs, isn't it? No wonder those pet beds are never good enough for them.
