And I wanted to share a bit more about our kitties....Particularly Gar. :D But to tell Gar's story, I need to tell you about Patches and Pieces - the kitties in my profile pic.

We adopted Pieces from a neighboring farmer when we moved to rural Michigan.  He was shy and skittish, at first.  Eventually, he warmed up to me and became (literally) MY GUY.

Patches joined our family about 4 months after Pieces when a random visitor pulled up in our driveway trying to find homes for the two kittens someone else had dropped off at her house.  We were able to take just one and chose Patches.  I was surprised at how well the two kitties hit it off.
Laying in the sun, dozy-ing. <3

Lakedweller520, so sorry to hear about Pieces but glad that Patches did all she could to comfort you as as she was Pieces good buddy too and probably she is seeking comfort from you in return.

So glad that Garwood has captured your heart as much as Pieces did and what a joy that Garwood settles well in the family especially with your son

Do continue to post their photos as we have lots of threads on cats doing their stuffs ;)

Welcome to TCS.  This is a great place for all info regarding our feline friends.  The support you will receive amazing, you won't be sorry you joined.

All your babies are beautiful.  I especially have a thing for big ears, right @TabbyTom  - Garwood reminds me of the early pictures of your sweet boy January.

I lost my two babies last year for different reasons, so I'm living vicariously through the members until we adopt a new member or two.  Right now it's been emotional thinking about replacing them, even though I know I will when the time is right, but for now, all the TCS kitties I consider mine. LOL

I look forward to following your stories.  They are all so special.

Best to you, and again Welcome
.

Warmest regards, Hope

@2Cats4everLoved "so sorry for your loss" isn't enough ... my heart hurts for yours. Hugs, prayers And purrs from the brood. [emoji]10084[/emoji]️
It's rough, they were my special kitties.  However, there are many out there who are special and are in need of love, so when the times right we'll open our home.

I actually was looking at a couple of special needs, 2 had an eye missing due to disease, so I'm very interested in learning on the special care that's involved with Garwood, if any at all.

Best to you and your sweet family.

@2Cats4everLoved  We've not had any issues with either of Gar's eyes.  The one that was injured was surgically removed and the eyelid sewn/healed shut.  You've seen what their face looks like when an eye is missing - I'm sure Gar's is the same but if you'd like a picture of what his "non-eye" eye looks, I can post or send it to you.  :)

Only having one eye doesn't seem to bother or affect him at all - of course, I don't even notice he's missing an eye unless something happens - like a jump onto our bed that he *just doesn't quite make* .... lol.  It happens a lot less frequently than I would've expected.

As far as prospective kitties for you - Id only be concerned if about the missing eye due to disease if it was a disease that could continue to affect vital organs OR if the corrective surgery wasn't done well or by reputable vets.  But I'm fairly sure those are things you've already considered.  :D

@imjustacatmom  Aloha and thank you!  I've appreciated the warm welcome we've received! Some of the articles I've been able to check out have been really REALLY good. Much respect to all.
