HELP......I rescued 2 about week old kittens yesterday. We are getting snow and is very cold and windy. They would have died. I have a female cat who birthed a litter of 4 kittens 9 weeks ago and still is producing milk. Would it be ok if I could get her to nurse these kittens? I need suggestions on what to do until I can get out from this snow and get nipples and kitten formula. All suggestions welcome please

By all means put the kittens on your mama cat if you haven't already done so!

I wonder what happened to their mama? Have they not eaten since you found them yesterday? How are they holding up?

If they nurse your cat well they will be fine. If not, we will go to plan B. Please let me know!

I was trying last nigh and she wanted no parts. Today was a little different she didn't want nothing to do with them this morning but a few hours ago I got her to feed them.

So have the kittens had a full meal? Are they doing okay? If not, you need to supplement with some homemade kitten glop asap!

I didn't see the momma cat and the kittens were crying and looked very cold. I couldn't stand it anymore and felt so bad. So I took them in so they wouldn't die.

Yes they had a full meal we're nursing on her for 30minutes until my cat was getting frustrated. They are resting comfortably right now together.

It's wonderful that you rescued them. Clearly something happened to their mom. Thank you for saving them. You did the right thing!

They will need to nurse every couple of hours for now. Please let me know if you think you need to make some homemade formula in case your mama kitty won't feed them. I'll give you a recipe.

Also provide a heat source for them such as a heating pad or hot water bottle under their blanket.

Thank you so much I felt like I had to. Could you please send me the recipe you can send a PM to me. You seem like you know a lot and it's helpful. Each of them have one eye partially opened. It's very amazing to watch. Thank you so much for your help. I do have one more question how often should I have my cat feed the kittens.

At a week old they still need to nurse every couple of hours. Here's the kitten glop recipe:
