I don't understand why my cat has to pee in only two corners of her litter box! I just bought an automatic litter box and she pees so close to the corners that it just aims right over the box. Is there a way to fix this behavior or is this unfixable?

Sounds like your cat might just need a larger box, or at least more than one box to do her business in.

How do you know that? Try a bigger box, not a litter pan, but a large rubber tub. I use the type that you can store underneath your bed and put sweaters in and stuff. It takes a bit more litter, but the cats seem to prefer the extra space it gives them.

I'd love the raking to be the problem, but shes not going in it at all. She'll get in it but not make it in the pan because she won't sit down while peeing. So I guess I just wasted $100 on nothing.

It sounds like the sides aren't high enough for her. My Frantic uses the side of the litter too. I have a hooded box for him. It keeps all his mess inside. Try getting a second litter box with a higher side. She may decide use 1 litter for poop and 1 for pee.

This makes me think back a couple of months ago when I was upset that I spent money on a nice kitty bed for Dori but she refused to sleep in it. Someone replied to my post saying something like you take a chance when you buy anything for a cat, they either like it or they don't. I know it's no fun to have wasted $100, but it's kind of funny to think about how picky cats are about everything
You gotta love them though!

So very true. I'm just gonna clean it up and put it away. Maybe one day she'll get rid of the corner habit and we can switch back, or I can save it for another cat some other day. I'd rather go back to the old litter box and not have to clean up pee 10 times a day.
