Hello!

We brought our cat (persian, 6 year old) to the vet for her infection pills. She is taking one every 3 months and we never skipped one. She is normally a calm cat, but doesn't behave very nicely on the vet. She refused to eat the pill and while doctors forcing her, one of her bottom fangs (left one) broken. She got blood, and they said they need to perform an operation to clean out the root of the teeth. We had to agree and after 1 week later, we made a blood test (everything was ok, but they commented immune system might be stronged a little bit) and she got the operation under anesthetics.

Operation was a success and they sent us home, noting that we had to feed her wet cat food (she ate dry food all her life, royal canin persion) for a week. We did that and after a week she got diarrhea and some small amount of blood. At first we thought it is because of food change because we had to instantly do it, but then we saw a very big pile of blood in her litter so we broguth her to the vet. They perscribed antibiothics and some blood medicine (flagyl & bacteral). She took those antibiotics bacteral once per day, and flagly twice per day. On the 2nd day of treatment, she started not eating and she got worse day after day. At the last day of treatment, she basically just stands, have trouble walking doesn't eat, doesn't drink. Although we didnt' have any vomiting and litter problems and diarrhea seems to be a little bit better. We called the vet and they said it might be related to coming and going to vet twice a day for a week got her stressed. We tried to give her our best support meanwhile force feeding her with a syringe her wet food and something called oralade (which is for anti dehydration i guess).

We thought she will get better but no! After 2 days, since she didn't get any better we brought her to the vet again and they said she had a fever of 40.2c. They did some pain killers and anti fever medicine and started another set of antibiotics (synulox and baytril). She stays there now and they constantly measure her temperature. Today 48 hours passed since the new treatment started and she still got fever. I think her fever comes and goes but I don't know if it is related to medicine shes taking or not.

Since she is not getting any better for days now, we are extremely worried. Did anyone had anything similar or can guide us what to do, and what she might have as a sickness? We love our girl very much like you all do with your pets, and we hope she gets better. If you have any information please share.

Best,

Hello @aderae.  I'm sorry there's been no response.  That's usually because no-one feels they have an answer for you at this time.

How are you going now?
