Does anyone have tips for removing the smell of dried in fishy vomit from a sofa cushion? Cat vomit!

Also, I suspect the vomiting it due to a change of food to a new raw food. He was fine with a previous one but now is sick a couple of days after eating it. Do you think I'm making the right link here or could another factor be causing his illness? He is currently indoors only awaiting injections.

We successfully removed that godawful smell from our carpet using something called "Folex" spray that we bought at Lowe's.  We had tried everything.  We still refer to that episode as the "bad fish" vomit......as in Wurp got hold of a "bad fish".  It was one of those Wuerva canned flavors, and it was AWFUL!

It was, I think the worst thing I have ever smelled...and I have picked up decomposed bodies wearing air-pac gear--I kid you not, this was worse.  I tried every kind of carpet cleaner, mixed Tide detergent in a spray bottle, everything, Febreeze, you name it.  It lingered.  We could walk past the doorway where he hurled and still smell it.  My mother in law recommended Folex and it worked the first time.

As for the reason, it could well be the food.  My cats will vomit if I introduce new food sometimes, and especially if it includes fish.  I keep the fish to a minimum in their diet.
