I recently moved in with a human and her parents. I never thought I was a human-cat, you know. All the other cats at my old home used to be so excited to see the humans that brought us food everyday. Not me. Humans were never my thing. I am more of a dog-cat, I guess. But even then the dog needs to keep its distance. But due to some weird chain of events, I ended up with a human. My human is clingy and has no concept of personal space and gets overly excited at every thing I do. No kidding. Our first day together, she got excited when I pooped! I also think she has a weird fascination with my poop and pee. She watches me when I do my business and as soon as I'm done she takes them away to some secret treasure chest. I never thought I'd find such creepy behavior endearing, but here I am.

So I have resorted to being that  kind of cat and am trying to train my human. She learns pretty fast but she is not all that bright when it comes to personal hygiene. She never licks herself and I am extremely worried about that fur on her head that hangs down limply. A lot of it also ends up on the floor. She sheds a lot, every morning. That can't be normal, right? And the rest of her body has a very, very, very, thin coat and I think all of it fell off because of my human's poor grooming habits. I have to do some thing. But, what? I try to groom her and lick that fur on her head but my human is pretty tall. I can't reach the top of her head unless she is lying down on the floor with me. But even then she becomes fussy when I try to lick her and makes this cackling sound (that she does often, sometimes even when I'm hunting, if I'm honest) and moves away. I am frustrated. When it comes to grooming, my human acts like an insolent kitten. Now, I'm a macho-cat. So I have no experience with the kittens. And if there was Queen near by, I'd leave me human to her, but I'm her only guardian. I have to take care of her and I'm out of options.

So I'm asking you guys. How do you deal with humans that don't groom themselves and refuse to let you groom them?

Vexing problem there. Clearly, something must be done about grooming your human. Maybe there is a shower or a garden hose around your place? You could try to lure her near one of these and turn on the spigot before she can escape. Best of luck. And, find a good hiding place where you can retreat afterward.
