I woke up this morning to the sound of my 6year old male cat retching. He vomited. It's been about two hours since I woke up, and so far he has vomited a total of 6 times. What he threw up is mostly foam and clear liquid a cross size of your middle/ring finger meeting your thumb. Before he would throw up a max of three times before resting for a bit in my closet and then waking up normal. He went to the bathroom, a number two (dark color, regular size) after his fourth vomit. I tried to feed him his breakfast which he sniffed and licked a few times, and then I went down to get my breakfast to eat with him. When I came back he was sitting on my bed with the bowl untouched. I put the wet food (Wellness, one of his regulars) back in the fridge.  He's gone back to my closet now.

My gut tells me that he just needs to rest for a few hours (in my closet) and then he'll be fine. But I was searching for symptoms/causes on Google, and so now I'm a bit worried. Money is a bit tight so an unexpected visit to the emergency vet this month isn't feasible (his yearly check up is in May). I have to run a few errands and go to a baby shower in a few hours, but since my cat is feeling unwell perhaps I should just cancel and monitor him instead?

Is he on any meds or anything?  outdoor?  anything to choke on? sometimes

if something has been in throat, fine ribbon or string or grass they will do this,  I

wouldn't worry since he's stopped no solids came up.  Good to rest,

He may want a drink before you leave...

*you said before so if it's common best to get it checked out soon

Honestly that's a lot of vomiting and with no appetite this is very concerning. If you can't get him to eat or drink anything, or keep anything down, you need to get him to an ER vet. Try offering him some tuna water or freeze dried 100% meat only treats. Foam is acid, or bile vomits, it means his tummy is empty. Obviously he's nauseated.

No meds except for Revolution I put last week. He's an indoor cat, and I don't think he's choked on anything. I woke him about just now, and he took a bite a small piece of purebites. Won't drink though. It's worrisome also since he hasn't "talked" when he's normally so talkative.

Yeah. He took a piece of purebites (freezedried chicken). He let me carry him out of my closet but then he started retching/gagging. But so far, vomit-free since I first posted.

Try some meat flavored baby food (NO onions or garlic) or tuna water. When was the last time he ate? Cats can't go more than 24 hours without food and if he's not drinking you'll really need to get him to the ER vet..

Any new food? new bag of kibble or new case of wet food?

He late last night so it's been about more than 12hrs, less than 24hrs. I never really see him drink. He urinates every day though, so I assume he's either using the water fountain in my room or the bowl water outside my room. I'll see if my nearest convenience store has that baby food. Thanks.
