My sneaky cat was laying under a pretty heavy rocking chair I was trying to move. I had checked before I went to move it and he wasn't there but then while I was moving it I guess he snuck under it. When I went to place it I tripped on something so it got dropped to its final place more than gently sat down and I'm pretty sure my cat was under one of the rocker legs because when it dropped down and I tried to catch it I thought I felt the chair stop on something and the cat plus one shopping bag with some school supplies were the only things under there. I didn't hear him cry out when it fell hunt I'm pretty sure I felt it catch on something. I also yelled when I tripped and the tv was on so I might've missed it if he did yell out in pain. He didn't dart out right away but when he did he went underneath the kitchen table. When I went to feel him over he meowed kind of aggressively and bit at me when I went over his back legs and midsection. He usually bites but the meowing aggressively was abnormal. I didn't feel anything unusual but i don't know. He is walking normally (no limping) and he has jumped off the couch to get away every time I've went to feel his back legs and stomach so that's confusing. He will meow aggressively (almost sounding like a growl) and bite at me but he feels okay enough to jump down to get away and then walk off. Is that a pain response (the biting/meowing) or is that just a "don't touch me" response? I put him in his kennel to observe him. He ate his food right away and is now meowing in protest to get out. He also stood on his back legs to play with the dangly toys in his cage. I'm not sure if he's just a little shook up or if the cause for the meowing is because he doesn't want me touching his stomach/back legs or if he might be hurt. We have no emergency vet for almost 70 miles and since it's very, very early Sunday (3:00 am currently) it will be over 24 hours until I can see his regular vet Monday morning and I'm not even certain that the chair fell on him. He's acting slightly odd but not like he's seriously injured I don't think. Is it possible he's just a little shaken up/doesn't want to be touched or does he meowing when I touched his stomach and back legs make it seem like he could be hurt? He's standing on his back legs to play with toys so could he have an injury and do that? Does the jumping down when I go to fee him for injuries mean he feels okay or is that just an automatic response to pain (to flee from the pain he's anticipating when I touch him if he is injured)? What should I do in the meantime or watch out for?

He sound more scared than hurt.  Cats will scream if you step on them or if something pinches them like a chair.  Keep observing him and give him time to calm down, perhaps leave him alone for a while.
