Help! :(

My friend's cat Jasmine is suffering. All the vets closeby are closed right now on Saturdays, so they are trying to do everything to alleviate the constipation like giving mineral oil.

Jasmine first started vomiting a lot and tried to use the litter box, but couldn't poop. She must have at least tried to use the litter box over 10 times now. Last she tried to poop, she gagged and vomited instead. Then she dragged her butt on the floor and left a discharge. At the same time her eyes were discharging some type of gunk? Now they are dripping "boogers". She is constantly hiding in the closet.

Does anyone know what could possibly be causing this? Jasmine has a history of eating plastic bags, but we are unsure if she ate any today. Usually she just throws it up. We did find out that her dad has been feeding her pork spread the past few days that contains garlic powder. Could that be playing some kind of factor (as garlic being toxic)?

Absolutely. Garlic is extremely toxic to cats. Is there a 24-hour emergency vet you can get her to? She really needs to see a vet.

Vomiting, diarrhea and breathlessness are common symptoms of garlic poisoning, not constipation.  Your cat sounds fully blocked, possibly dangerously so and i would seek out a vet asap.  If you suspect garlic poisoning I would suggest you call the ASPCA poison control hotline, phone number and website info in my signature.

Your friend needs to take Jasmine to the nearest ER vet immediately.

Search the internet for "24 hour vets near (your zipcode)".

You can call ahead to find out what the evaluation will cost.

Calling ahead also gives the clinic time to prepare to treat the cat as soon as she gets there.
