I found Tommy on display at Petco from county 8 years ago come July. He wasn't paying attention to me. He did eye contact once or twice. What he was really preoccupied with was chasing him own tail on the shelf he was sitting on and falling off and doing the same thing over again. He didn't vocalize to me and didn't ever reach through the bars. He was having a great time in a cage. I read through his notes and he was neutered 2 days before. No hard feelings.

I figured this guy would be the one for me. He's a DSH Blue Russian mix. His eyes are green with a rim of gold. He explored my car on the way home. He explored my apartment and Yue was hissing at him like crazy.

It was Yue's house. Her and the doggy she liked to beat on and run off. When Yue moved in she was a stray crying outside of the door of a vacant unit. I brought her home on my dog walk. She spent 3 days in my closet. She would sleep in the hammock in the guinea pig pen or go inside the loveseat and grab you when you wouldn't expect it. She was a very plain white and tan. Over the next few months her markings and coloring came in and turns out she's white with heather and sable and big blue eyes and a pink nose. She resembles Rag Doll breed.

Amalie was a stray at the next apartment complex. Office threatened to call animal control on her for yowling over territory at night. She would greet me every time I got home so I knew she was at least fond of me and I took her in. It took at least a week for her to calm her nerves of always having to look over her shoulder. She also had a terrible mouth full of FORLs and had an abscess starting. I got her a dental at $800 on discount during Pet Dental Awareness Month *february*. They pulled many teeth and cleaned her mouth up. She is a tiny tortie cat. We ended up getting another tooth extracted a year or two later.

Stewart was a stray from the next apartment complex. He met my boyfriend at the school bus stop for a few days and boyfriend decided to bring him in. He put him in the kennel and when I checked him out I went whoa boy he's a boy. My hand landed in his crotch when I picked him up and found out he had not been neutered yet. He was around 10 months old. Within a month I got him fixed, but he's a little hell raiser. I've been bitten in the face 2 or 3 times and you should have seen how mean he was during vaccinations. We found out he had asthma and knew we couldn't get him adopted. He's a bw tux with bright green eyes.

What lesson have we learned here?
If you live in an apartment complex, you're going to eventually get a cat.
We were supposed to rehome Amalie but I invested a ton in her and she loves me a lot.
We were supposed to rehome Stewart but he has medical issues.

Worst tattoo I've gotten is Tommy's great big paw prints down my hairline and behind my ear. Sentimental PAIN.

We've had other cats but that's the current crew. All four of them drove from Phoenix to DC in the back of their dad's Mini Cooper. My Jetta had 5 guinea pigs and three parrots.

Tommy has run up $10000 in the last 6 months. I was going to end up putting him down at $4000, but his father encouraged me to get through it. He was hospitalized 3 times and on the 4th he had surgery. They had to reroute his urethra. My bub has no distinct male characteristics now but momma lubs her boy.

I spend 2 hrs a month making 21 lbs of raw food for Tom and Stewart since Tom first went to the hospital.
I have done a few things wrong. I let Stewart get up to 16 lbs and Tommy to 21. Now they are 12 and 13 lbs after working at it for a few years.
I haven't had to rely on my boyfriend as much as I have since we moved here. The boys' food costs went up $75 a month. He told me to keep Tom hospitalized and stable and we would transfer him to surgery. He's going to be making at least half of the CareCredit payments. He bought Feed and Go automatic feeders last summer for more freedom since they are on portion control and get fed small meals five times a day. The girls have a SureFlap feeder.

Right now while Tom is healing, he gets to wear the cone of shame. He can't use the water fountain in it and it only comes off for meals so I've been putting a bunch of fluid in his food ie: bone broth, blood, water
I have this fear that I'm just going to have an off day or a bad week and just neglect to hydrate my cat.

Hello lalagimp, wow!, what a story and what a hefty bill and what a good caring and loving kitty mom you are to them especially to Tommy

It takes lots of love to keep up with it and you've shown it all. I'm sure Tommy appreciates it and he loves you too and that goes for the rest of the crew.

Keep it up and do post photos of them for us to see and we hope Tommy gets well soon :vibes: :vibes:

All your kitties are beautiful! And did you draw those yourself?
I went through templates on Zazzle and came up with them and then ordered the magnets
