My 10 yr old started losing hair around her ears and eyes. The vet gave her an antibiotic and somehting to make the itching less dreadful. But I never see her scratch. They think it's foods. It's been on and off for about a year.

Now her stomach lost all kind of hair and the skin looks red. We have made six trips to the vet, tried, litter changes, new diet, atopica?Which she hates. She won't eat the special dry food. She is also my most skittish terrified fear based cat. I really cannot pick her up. she slinks out at 2 am for purring and petting.Thats about all. She almost bit the vet and three techs.I am at a loss ans worried. Also, limited funds for specialists which now may be the only choice.I really cannot afford anymore than we have spent. I still have other cats!I bought rabbit? She won't eat it. Also isolating her is difficult and so is medicating her. I will ask about thyroid. She also hates treats.

I have had cats all my life and Im almost 60.I never had these issues. Is it the GMos in our foods????

Hello @lisaandlulu and welcome to TCS!

I'm sorry it's taken so long to respond, but you had posted in an older thread and so those who can help you have missed it.

Hopefully there will be some response now.

We also have this article, which may be helpful.

You're dealing with food allergies and fur loss. I don't have any experience with this

I'm bumping your post to see if other members have advice. You may also want to browse or post in the food and nutrition forum

You say you never see her scratch but what about grooming? I have a nervous cat whom I think is developing psychological alopecia from overgrooming. If it's that, something like xanax may be far more effective than changing diet.
