I don't think she was pregnant before I got her... It could be possible tho, but she is very small. The vets told me she should be gaining weight, especially since she started to become in heat, meaning she is at the age to be bigger than what she is supposed to be now. They already told me she is very healthy though, just curious to how much I was feeding her. Her appetite is bigger than my male Houdini lol. They doubted me at first, but I know her behavior was signs in heat, she was acting very affectionate, with the butt lifting and everything; it wasn't hard to figure it out. If she is pregnant, I have no idea how for long or when it happen. I have to wait 3 weeks before I can get her in the vet to get another shot, and the next day to be spayed. Will vets spay a pregnant cat though? I never heard of this.
Can you try to find another vet to take her to?  Yes, vets spay when pregnant all the time.  If it's early in the pregnancy, it's really no different.

Kittens can eat as much as they want.  How much are you feeding her?  Has she been dewormed?

I was thinking about taking her to another vet. But she had her rabies and distemper a week ago. The vet told me she needs to wait 3 weeks before another shot to build up the immune system. She needs it the day before the surgery, so idk if I can tell another vet that it has already been 3 weeks because won't an early shot harm her? Also, she is parasite free, I have done a fecal exam already and give her a dewormer droplets (safe for kittens).

I think she will need to be spayed as soon as possible, maybe before having the second shot.  Perhaps your current vet would do the spay given the circumstances?

In most cases, males aren't fertile or knowledgeable enough at 5-6 months to get a girl pregnant. It has happened but they generally don't get a clue until 8-9 months. So there's a fair chance she isn't pregnant and it's just the heat hormones making her teats bigger. But there's also a chance she is pregnant :/. Houdini could be older than you think or could be an especially mature young man. And she's really too young to be going through that.

I would call the vet and tell them the situation. They may decide that the risk to her health if she is pregnant is more pressing than the vaccine situation.

How long ago was Houdini neutered? When did you notice she was in heat? Is she still occasionally acting like she's in heat?

I will try to talk my vet tomorrow and ask if they can do an early spay because I really think she too too young to have kittens. She looks like a kitten herself. Thank you for taking the time to help me.

Houdini got neutered around the ending of jan. I got Savannah around mid February. I assume he is older because she it little compared to him. The vets agreed that they are around 5-6 months old. She started this heat cycle like a week ago. She has stopped with the heat cycle now, but I noticed her nipples are kinda swollen, Houdini likes to smell her butt still, and I keep them away now knowing he can still impregnate her. I feel like even if she got pregnant by Houdini a week ago, her nipples wouldn't swoll up so fast? But if it is as you say by the heat cycle, then possibly it is that and I'm worried for nothing. They are back to playing again, and she stopped yeowling. But I will call my vet and see if they can do an early spay due to the fact that she is too young and her size is little.

Oh, if he was neutered 2 weeks before he even met her, I think you're safe. Sperm can't live for very long, some sources say a week or 2, some say longer, but definitely not longer than a month. And since she just recently went into heat, it would be too soon for a pregnancy to be causing any physical changes. So I would say that a pregnancy is very unlikely. But going into heat multiple times isn't so healthy either, and will drive you crazy, so you still want to get her spayed as soon as the vet will do it. First heats can be inconsistent, but most cats go 5 days on, 7-10 days off, 5 days on again, and so on until spayed. The constant cycling can be pretty hard on them :/.

So, the procedure went well. Savannah is doing okay for now, I just give her pain meds so she shouldn't be too miserable. Turns out she wasn't pregnant, it was just her being in heat that made her nipples swell like they did.

It's good to hear that the spay went well, and that your cat was not pregnant after all. She should be back to her old self in a few days! [emoji]128571[/emoji]

Yay! I know that sounds hurtful and mean but since she is so young she would have lots of issues, health problems, and a hard time in this birthing process because she is so young
