My female cat is possibly pregnant even when she is an indoor cat?

Hello, it all started when I found two stray kittens. One Male (Houdini) and one female (Savannah). Once Houdini was neutered, I made an appointment for the female kitten I have, Savannah next. After the shot, she begin to become in heat surprisingly, but I wasn't too worried because Houdini was neutered and thought she couldn't get pregnant unless she went out doors. Lately, I noticed her nipples are showing more? It could be paranoia, but I can't help to think she might be pregnant? So, I found out even after the male cat is neutered, he can still impregnate her... I know she had her vaccines before I noticed it. She isn't fat or anything, and always had a round belly like figure, and she is very small. Even the vets said she is very small, and said should gain a pound for every month. What will happen when the vets were to spay her and found out she was pregnant? Is her kittens going to be harmed through the vaccines? I'm scared she is too young to be pregnant and it might hurt her. They are both very healthy kittens by the way, I do try my best to get my kittens what they need, and what I can afford.

~Much appreciation for reading

-Jessica

Sorry it repeated 8 times what I'm asking is how old is Savannah? Just asking because cats should not get pregnant at all (accidents happen though so no worries) but I just want to know since it is bad for her if she Is young

I'm not sure exactly, cause I found them outside. If I were to guess, I think Savannah the female is about 4 or 5 months and the male kitten, Houdini 5 or 6 months (cause he was bigger than her). I told the same thing to the vets, and they agreed it was time to vaccinate them and get them neutered and spayed.

Agreed and yes because when girl cats come to 4 months they will start to when girl cats come to four months they will start to begin a heat cycle and that's what gets them pregnant and that is not good for that cats health so let's hope that she isn't pregnant! Also I would ask the vet if you can afford it to see if she is officially pregnant or has any illness or you can aka advisors who are better at this than me like @sarthur2 or other people who are very smart are talkingpeanut talkingpeanut

But I am also very knowledgeable just ask with them jist in case I am wrong if they do join the thread but I honestly think I'm not wrong from all of my info and facts learned I do know that they start heat cycling at 4 months of age that's why you get them neutered (unless you can not afford it which is OK because I couldn't afford it at first)

okay, I will ask the vets what I can do about it. I noticed Houdini is kinda acting aggressive and growls, but I haven't seen him mounted on her. (I'm guessing cause of the neutering.)  I don't know if she is still in heat. But he doesn't act like this with her most of the time, and they usually just play normally. And she isn't constant with her yowls or mating calls. Her behavior is usually playful, so hopefully that is another sign that she is okay. Hopefully she isn't pregnant. Thank you for the advice.

No problem and I'm sure if you have any more questions TCS members (like me) can help!! I love helping people especially cat people who NEED HELP! Lol but yeah my cat is insane and hates tummy rubs so she is super playful an loves the outdoors that's why I have a leash (and getting her spayed gene her kittens are 8 weeks as recommended) so yeah so hopefully no mate calls are near us while I walk her!

How aggressive it could be a sign he doesn't want bothered by Savannah which makes sense since if she is pregnant (most likely not hopefully) you wouldn't want him near her due to re-mating constantly

It wasn't that I couldn't afford it at first, it was cause they made me wait to make an appointment. I had to wait 3 weeks after Houdini's shot then get him neutered. When I brought Savannah in, they were unsure if she was old enough, but I told them she was in heat, so they said she needed it now. And I saw it only twice? He didn't mount her or anything. He was just growling at her. It's been several days since he acted this way.

How long have you had them? Cats' gestation is for ~64 days. Is it possible she got empregnated before you brought her in? You should do an ultrasound before the spay, otherwise the kittens will be aborted.

Please do not take mom outside at all until her kittens are weaned and fully vaccinated. She can bring disease and parasites in to them. They need her and are very vulnerable. I would also imagine that a cat in heat could slip out of a leash if she decided to.

I would get her spayed right away if I were you. This would end a pregnancy if there were one, but a 4 or 5 month old should not be having kittens. This is especially true if she is small.

I don't think she was pregnant before I got her... It could be possible tho, but she is very small. The vets told me she should be gaining weight, especially since she started to become in heat, meaning she is at the age to be bigger than what she is supposed to be now. They already told me she is very healthy though, just curious to how much I was feeding her. Her appetite is bigger than my male Houdini lol. They doubted me at first, but I know her behavior was signs in heat, she was acting very affectionate, with the butt lifting and everything; it wasn't hard to figure it out. If she is pregnant, I have no idea how for long or when it happen. I have to wait 3 weeks before I can get her in the vet to get another shot, and the next day to be spayed. Will vets spay a pregnant cat though? I never heard of this.

And yes talkingpeanut talkingpeanut is right I would try to spay her as soon as possible as I said before it is not good for the health of your 4 month old kitty
